One of the bolts of this product was not fitting correctly in the hole so anyway, I force it but next time I need to remove it to change the bar it won’t work anymore so the quality must be better.

I recently sold one of my two E-bikes. Why? It didn't fit me. Riding it caused super harsh pain in my wrists because the frame was just too big. Plus, it was a mid-drive mountain bike and I just ride around the block, no off-roading so the bike just didn't suit my needs. I still have my hub-motor e-bike and while I really like it, especially with the changes I've made to make it more of a road/hybrid bike, it also is a little too big for me. It doesn't cause abominable wrist pains like the mid-drive since its frame is a little smaller, but long rides will see my wrists get a little tender. I'd initially bought an e-bike because I'd been experiencing knee pain as I pedal. I recently found out that, if I set the saddle height correctly, nearly all the pain goes away. So, while I'm looking at a smaller hybrid, non-electric bike for exercise, I am keeping my hub motor e-bike. Since it's so modified already (I have lighting, a cargo rack, cargo back, road tires, and even a horn on this thing!), I figured it couldn't hurt to try other mods, so I got this adjustable stem. This ties into my review title. With this stem angled up to 65 degrees (I can't raise it any higher unless I get a longer cable for my front brakes) I've noticed there's much less weight on my hands when I ride. I haven't gotten a chance to go on an extended ride yet, but the few short rides I've gone on have been more pleasant. Since this stem brings the bars back closer to the rider as its angle adjustment is increased, it's made controlling my slightly-too-big e-bike easier. Since I'm a pavement rider, I can't comment on how this stem would fare on a mountain bike setup. The stem is aluminum, so caution does need to be exercised when the single bolt that holds the pivot point is tightened. There are a couple of nearby roads that have deeply recessed maintenance covers and potholes, so if I ever ride that way and this stem moves on me from the impacts, I'll update this review. I want to elaborate on my point of the handlebar position changing from this stem though. I worry some may read my review and think "Hey! I have a bike that's too big too! This'll fix it!" While this stem helps me by bringing my handlebars higher and closer to me, my bike's frame is still too big. I can't dismount my bike by simply hopping off the pedals, or I may hit my groin on the frame top tube. This stem only resolves one aspect of the fitment issue. Also, for some applications, elevated handlebars will help, but having them back toward the rider may be detrimental, or vice-versa. So again, this stem MIGHT help with fitting a bike that's too big for you. I'm grateful to have this, as I don't want to sell my last e-bike. However, I'm looking forward to finding and getting a non-electric bike that's better sized to me right off the bat. ... show more

I wanted a way to adjust my handlebars on my Aventon Soltera to give me more of an upright riding position. The GEWAGE Bike Stem is a good solution except for one thing. The description never tells you to pay attention to the stem height. They show the stem height being 35mm, but their description only states to measure the diameter of the turning rod not height of the OEM stem. This is important because my Aventon bike stem is 40mm. Although the GEWAGE Bike Stem installs fine, it doesn't tighten the forks up because it's 5mm too short. This caused play in the front forks which isn't good because it can cause premature wear on the front fork bearings. It may work fine for other bikes but not the Aventon Soltera. I had to purchase additional spacers from Amazon. The other problem I had with the GEWAGE bike stem is the front cap screw distance. Unfortunately the Aventon Soltera's headlight mounts to that front cap and the screws are a tad narrower in distance compared to the OEM. Installation of the GEWAGE stem is straight forward. The stem did allow a nice way to fine tune handlebar placement for a more comfortable riding position. If your OEM stem height is 35mm then it should work perfectly. If your OEM stem height is more you will need to add a spacer stem kit. ... show more
