I bought this drone to use for dramatic shots for our YouTube channels...because that's what all the cool kids are doing...and I gotta tell you, I suck at this stuff. Honestly. I opened the box, charged the batteries...then cracked open the manual and I might as well been reading Sanskrit. I got my girlfriend's teenager to get the thing working and he had it operating in under 10 minutes using an app on his phone coupled with the controller that comes with the drone. It's the craziest little thing you've ever seen. It's pretty quiet, it zips around like a humming bird and the picture quality is not bad. The kid even gets it to do flips in the air. He got himself a B-Day present because I didn't have the heart to take it back from him. Battery life could be longer as it only flies about 10 to 15 minutes before it needs recharging but he's having a ball with it and that's all that matters. ... show more

I got this for my son for Christmas and it was a big hit! He had never flown a drone before and he mastered flying it within a week (doing spins and flips). He said it was a little bit of a learning curve figuring out the logistics at first but he was flying it around the house within a couple of hours of getting it. It maneuvers great and the video quality is pretty good. Bought this for my son before deployment and wasn't opened until I returned. The thing is garbage...it looks "cute", but that's it. I turned it on (following the instruction) and all this crap does is beep and flash a red light on the drone, and four green flashes on the controller. I tried everything I thought possible to make it work (including YouTube), but nothing happens other than the beeps given. Even after getting a solid red light and solid green dots with beeps, it STILL does nothing. If I could give a "0" rating I would definitely do so because it's a waste of money! The three stars are mainly because connecting and starting are not intuitive ways, it won't fly stationary and the app it wants you to download is NOT through the apple or google play store but a direct download. This is potentially a major security risk to your device. The unit appears to lose connection each time your power it on and you have to reconnect by pressing the left joystick up hold and then down hold. Starting the blades is via holding the left joystick towards 4:30 position and right joystick to a 7:30 position. Not an intuitive way to get it flying in my opinion. Utilizing just the basic functions of the remote with the drone, it is quite reactive to the controls to the point that with just a touch it would shoot in one direction easily. The blades did hit some paper hanging up and cut the paper but did not do damage to other larger stationary items. The drone does not level off. This is a problem as if you are trying to orient the controls it does not float steady but is shifting in one direction or another constantly. It does seem to stay at the same flight height though. Overall, this is a great compact drone with plenty of power and reactive controls but the fact it keeps moving when no controls are pressed and the app is a direct download causes me pause. ... show more

I have always wanted to try out a drone and when this opportunity presented itself I jumped at it. First of all I am a total noob, I have never flown or even touched a drone in my life. If you just gave this to a young kid, i feel it would be pretty tough for them to figure out how to even get the blades turning. I took me many hours of reading and rereading the tiny print to even get somewhat of an appreciation of what I was supposed to do. My iPhone 13 in the case did not fit at all so this was a bummer, i have the case to protect the phone and the cradle on the remote did not seem secure enough for me to want to test it's reliability on my phone. So I had my phone partially in the cradle, this made holding the remote awkward since it kept wanting to fall out. I was able to print the instruction with a large font so I could read it. Assembly was pretty straight forward, I was ready to test fly in about 3 hours. Mind you I was a bit apprehensive, i did not realize how durable this model was. WA-LAH we have lift off, right into the side of my face, LoL! It took me about another hour to figure out the controls and get a somewhat stable flight pattern, still I had problems with both me and the drone! I still have not figured out many of the very cool features however i am determined to succeed at this! For me the flight time was very limited, just as I was getting the feel of the drone in flight the battery started to die. As you can see in the pictures I managed to take a few pictures at different altitudes of flight. I was able to get it all the way across the street over my neighbor's front yard [60 feet away] and then I took that one picture of the cul de sac [about 75 feet in the air]. Flight time for each battery was maybe 12 minutes and this was in LOW MODE. Maybe I need to charge them longer than 60 minutes. Once I have figured out more of the features and test them properly I will be update this review. Keep in mind if you have never flown a drone and intend to give this to a child it will quickly become a case of the blind leading the blind. I watched that video and was all excited, that quickly vanished, the instructions can be very confusing and I have a ton of patience. Keep in mind this review I have just shared with Y'all is from a total NOOB, FIRST TIME DRONE USER! I'm excited to learn what this puppy can really do. This is my second one. The first one I had I got a little too ambitious with and sent it up too high, to be fair the height was impressive before it lost contact and flew away in a strong wind.
