The adjustable colored display allows for measurements to be read both horizontally and vertically. Some other features include adjustable brightness, automatic switch-off, and low battery indicator. Note: Low blood perfusion can affect accuracy of your readings. Warm your hands and fingers before taking your measurements by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function. It usually takes 10 seconds to get a reading. Some people though may require a longer time for the pulse oximeter to optimize its sensitivity. You may have to wait about 30 seconds for the readings to stabilize. Keep your hand still while taking a reading - any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading. I decided to buy a pulse oximeter as part of my COVID-19 protection efforts. I chose the PO30 because Beurer is an established company and Amazon, not a Marketplace vendor, was the seller. I like the PO30. The display is bright and easy to read. It runs on AAA batteries, which are less of a hassle over time than button-style batteries. There are many small design touches, such as markings on the battery door to make it easier to close, that show some thought went into the user experience before manufacturing. The readings have been consistent over time for each person using it. I haven't had a chance to calibrate it against a health care provider-grade instrument yet. My pre-purchase research, though, indicated that the technology is mature and well understood . Consequently, as long as the maker and retailer are reputable, doctors consider most pulse oximeters to be fine for the way I'm using mine. ---------- Additional comment: I was looking at the manual today and it says that the PO30 has a limited lifetime warranty. That's a lot better than the warranty offered on most other pulse oximeters. ... show more

This is probably one of the better oximeters I have purchased. It reads quickly and appears to be accurate. Does not work great on little finger though. Get one for children if you have really small fingers.

The image kept rotating so it was super annoying to read. I will say it picked up on my pulse jumping from POTS but idk how accurate this is with pulse oxygen. I got this to make sure I was keeping up with breathing stuff during covid but I'm realizing it might be good to have around in general for someone with a connective tissue disorder/POTS. I came here by a recommendation on a review for a different product so I will say I appreciate that person lol. ... show more

Love these oximeters so far. My mom is home on oxygen from Covid pneumonia. This has been extremely helpful keeping track of her oxygen levels. Truly every household should have one of these. Never know when you may need it.

We bought this to check our 2007 Nonin Onyx II against. The two meters read identically and this meter reads just as quickly. When we bought the Nonin Onyx II it was the best on the market and apparently is still considered very good. The Nonin is guaranteed for at least 50 drops. I have no idea how this unit will stand up to drops, possibly not so well, maybe not at all but, in my opinion, if you need oxygen saturation readings, this is a very good value for the money. ... show more

This meter is a bit finicky regarding positioning while taking a reading. It likes to be resting on a stable, flat surface. Then it matches my BP/heart rate monitor exactly.
