    • only worked for less than a month
This is the second BestWay pump we’ve owned in the past year, and both have stopped working completely. When we plug it in, nothing happens. There is no sign of power other than the lights on the outlet box itself (meaning there’s power going to it, but pump isn’t running). We have kept the filter and the pump itself clean. The first pump lasted about 2 months, this newest one only lasted less than a month. And that’s with only running it about 4 hours every other day. We have taken the pump completely apart, changed outlets, reset outlet, etc. Our main reason for buying BestWay again was due to thinking we may have done something wrong the first time, but that is obviously not the case! This is like our fourth one of these in the last four years and they keep our little budget oasis crystal clear. I really wish they lasted longer, but this last one seems to be better than the one before. I'm hoping we get a year or more out of it. I got to admit though changing the filter gets me cussing like crazy. Sometimes that fricking lid doesn't line up and I'm spinning around the dang thing with my rump up in the air trying to get it to seal right! Makes me glad we don't have any neighbors! ... show more

I ran this filter all summer long with no issues except some algae build up. (My own fault) Replaced the filters every 2 weeks and kept my water quality clear. Hoses are good, taking them off of the filter however makes some of the o-rings not seal correctly and then you have to take the hose off, and twist it back on. No big deal to me, takes 30 seconds. Works well for our above ground pool. Have to be careful with the gasket, but really easy to maintain. You can wash and reuse the filters we buy!
