Learning piano/keyboard on your own is certainly ambitious but this has been on my bucket list since I was a kid, decades. I bought a keyboard and started about 3 weeks ago. I feel I am making progress with a few beginner books and “Piano For All” by Robin Hall. When I ordered this series I wasn’t sure what to expect according to some mixed reviews. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Having the left hand chords spelled out makes it so much more easy to get through a song. Having songs that you recognize also makes playing easier. Although the right hand notes are lettered I find I am not really paying attention but rather I’m reading the actual notes. I bought this book along with The Beatles and Billy Joel. There isn’t a bad song in any of these 3 books. If you’re a beginner and unsure about this series don’t be, they are wonderful. ... show more

There is no written base clef, which I failed to notice in the web description. I'm not good enough to play chords from memory yet and need the notation. Great. If you just want to play the melody & know your chords already

    • Poorly formatted
I don’t read music and I am using this book to learn to play a bowed psaltery. The songs are simple recognizable melodies, and not that difficult. My biggest disappointment is that the Kindle download version is not actually formatted for kindle. If it were, each song on the contents page would be linked to the song page so that one could just press on the title and be taken directly to the song. It seems like I spend most of my time scrolling from page to page. I was planning to buy other books in this series as I progressed, but I am hesitant to go through this again. ... show more

I love these easy play books… I used to play but it has been so long that my finger agility is poor… I can play for the nursing home and they can recognize the songs!!! So grateful !!!
