  • Worked great! Very glad we had them for a recent hurricane
Size: 6 Foot Length
We purchased these to protect from excessive blowing rain enter under our garage doors. They worked extremely well! During a normal rain storm we have water come in under the garage doors due to the winds. Purchased these to hopefully minimize rain from being blown under the garage doors. We were very impressed with them. Very, very little rain seeped in. In fact, only had to use a paper towel to wife it up. The only thing I’d recommend, depending the length of your water tube, is if driveway slopes a little away from the garage door you’ll need to place something in front of the tub so it doesn’t roll away. I only used one driveway paver for each 8ft section and each stay in place during the hurricane. They were easy to empty, dry out and store for future use ... show more

  • Fantastic Product
Size: 12 Foot Length
I bought 2 of the 12ft barriers. 1 for my double doors off of my pool deck. My deck pitches too much towards my house and I always worried about water entering my home. The other I ended up using for my side garage door. I just folded it over on itself to create more of a 6ft barrier and it once again worked like a charm. I have used sandbags for years. They are a pain to fill, a pain to load and unload and a mess once they have been through a storm. These are quick and easy to fill and to empty. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Easy to Use, Seems to Provide a Good Seal.
Size: 6 Foot Length
Happily, I cannot give the product five stars because the flood I was planning to prevent in my basement never happened, so I don't know how secure the seal would have been! A hurricane was due here at my coastal home in two days, with warnings of a three-foot storm surge that could have sent water into my walk-out basement. The bay behind my house is brackish, so none of the so-called water activated dams would have worked. Also, of all the water-filled products, this is the only one that promised to be at my home before the storm hit. I bought three to stack in front of the walk-out door. They filled very easily with a garden hose (one quibble: the nozzle thread on the Hydrabarrier is identical to the one at the hose bib end, so it's impossible to screw the hose securely onto the product. I had to jam the end of the hose into the barrier itself. Some kind of adaptor would be helpful). The barrier sure looked secure; the water-filled tube seemed to fill in the gaps and contours of the doorway. It may not have utterly prevented any water from getting into the basement, but neither do actual sand bags. I've just drained them, a process that took less than a minute or two for each barrier. There does not seem to be a way to get every bit of water out (the nozzle apparently cannot be at the end of the tube, in order to ensure a good seal). But I'm leaving them out in the post-storm sun with the caps off, hoping evaporation will do the job. Pleased with the purchase and hoping never to use it again. ... show more

  • worked through 2 hurricanes so far
Size: 12 Foot Length
We have used these during multiple hurricanes. Sooooo much better than dealing with sand bags and storage. We have 6 ft and 12 feet sections. Fill location you want them, hard to move once filled. overlap if needed at seams. We have 6 inch high and 10/12 inch? Use both depending on location. We love they are reusable (easy to fill....buy the hose attachment. It is a great time saver. We have purchased the kind that get wet and expand. Those were worthless. I can not say enough good things about the Hydrabarrier. Use at my house and office in Coastal South Carolina. ... show more

  • Easy to fill and easy to empty Easy to fill and easy to empty
Size: 12ft - 2 Pack
Third hurricane season on Florida Gulf Coast. Last time, we used Quick Dam reusable bags that inflate after they get wet. Takes a while to inflate and about six months to deflate. And you need a lot. Better than nothing and easier than sandbags. This year, for hurricane Milton, we used this 24' water filled tube. Note that you MUST buy the separate hose adapter for it. This filled up super fast and was almost the full width of our lanai opening. The opening is sloped to the drain so the tube kept rolling. I just used some QuickDam bags to keep it from rolling and to block the last couple of feet (not fully inflated in the photo). Note that I doubt this will be helpful in a storm surge area since it could be pushed around by the force of a surge. It is perfect, though, for holding back flooding to allow our drain time to work. ... show more

  • Heavy duty reuseable sandbags
Size: 12ft - 2 Pack
Haven't needed them yet but our city changed the natural flow of water in a creek, now during heavy rains it overflows into the public street down our street flooding our garage. Inspected the quality and its heavy duty. You don't need something like this till you do. I'll protect my property and push the water down to neighbors house ... show more

  • Great - but not proof against Chompy, the raccoon!
Size: 6 Foot Length
My wife and I have used these water-inflatable heavy-gauge vinyl dams to prevent excess water from a slope from flooding our crawlspace, coming in through cracks in our foundation. Bottom line - these things are great; they're easy to fill (even without the recommended hose attachment), they fill fairly quickly from a standard hose, and they're relatively durable (these ones lasted 2 years, even out in the sun for multiple months at a time, before cracking from old age). On that last note however, regarding my "relatively durable" comment - our latest replacement barriers have met their match against a raccoon whom I'll call "Chompy." One late evening, my wife and I were awoken by sloshing sounds coming from outside our window where we had placed the Hydrabarriers. We thought they were raccoons and thought nothing of it. To our surprise, Chompy had assumed three of our Hydrabarriers were either a giant sausage or some sort of animal waterbed, and had left multiple two-fang bite marks and rips all along our barriers. And while patches were thoughtfully included by the manufacturer, they obviously never considered that we would need more than one per barrier to cover Chompy's Evening (Hydrabarrier) Chompfest. At a price of roughly $1/patch, it's worth it to patch the barriers, but for now while Chompy is resident in the area, I'm going to transition to the gel-based WaterDam products. At least if Chompy comes back, he'll get a mouthful of gel and polyester mesh. ... show more

  • constant leaks, can't be counted on constant leaks, can't be counted on
Size: 12 Foot Length
I live in a hurricane state and got this to add to my preparedness supplies, to have on-hand for the next storm. First hurricane came about a year later and hit overnight. I filled it and all looked good but when I woke it was flat. I found the leak and used the included patch on it. Storm had passed so it was put back in storage. Next hurricane I got it out and while I was filling it I found a second hole. I again used the patch kit they provided but watched in horror as it deflated during the hurricane....at which point all you can do is watch and worry about water coming in your sliders as it's too late to do anything else. This week I faced my third hurricane and just like before, as I was filling it, water was shooting out of another pinhole leak. Plus the patches from the previous hurricane season were coming off. By the time you realize you can't use this, it's too late to do anything as the storm is approaching. I had a can of Flex Seal in the garage and tried that but it didn't work at all. I grabbed some roll plastic and used this as dead weight to hold the plastic in front of my door. I tried rolling it so that the leak was "up" and that meant it only deflated about half the height it should have been. Three times I've tried to use this and each and every time it sprung a leak. It's about as thick and sturdy as a inflatable pool raft. Oh....and the screw on cap broke once so I had to order more caps one year as well. WARRANTY....BEWARE....This thing only has a 30 DAY warranty. So if you buy this to be prepared for a storm that might come sometime down the road you're warranty is over before you ever use it. What annoys me more than the waste of money buying this and the aggravation of trying to repair it is that it gives you a false peace of mind...you think you're prepared and protected by having this and by the time you figure out it's not going to work there's a hurricane coming at you and it's too late to do anything. Complete waste of money, not at all durable, patch kit a joke. ... show more
