We purchased these to protect from excessive blowing rain enter under our garage doors. They worked extremely well! During a normal rain storm we have water come in under the garage doors due to the winds. Purchased these to hopefully minimize rain from being blown under the garage doors. We were very impressed with them. Very, very little rain seeped in. In fact, only had to use a paper towel to wife it up. The only thing I’d recommend, depending the length of your water tube, is if driveway slopes a little away from the garage door you’ll need to place something in front of the tub so it doesn’t roll away. I only used one driveway paver for each 8ft section and each stay in place during the hurricane. They were easy to empty, dry out and store for future use

I had inquired with Watershed Innovations via email about this product. They were kind enough to respond over the weekend to confirm it would work for me with additional guidance. Ordered two of the six foot units that day. I just wanted to wash my car in accordance with local guidelines such that the soap suds could get redirected to my yard instead of going down the driveway and into the storm drain. Filled both with water and propped up with a few paint cans so it wouldn't roll. There was some small amount of rinse water appearing to seep under it while I washed my cars, but it wasn't enough to be concerned with, and could have just been the hose spraying over it. Otherwise, it worked great. After I got both drained, I rolled each up , and put away for next time. Two improvements to the product that could be made. 1) The drain cap is too far up from the end. Should be on the far end of the unit itself. That would make it easier to drain the last little bit of water instead of having to shake it and turn it over several times. 2) The initial pop-out of the inner cap wasn't intuitive (had to use a screw driver per instructions). I'm not sure why the inner cap even exists. I had to puncture it to get it out. The outer cap suffices for keeping it sealed while filled up. Units are priced a bit high for what's essentially an inflatable piece of vinyl, but far cheaper than some similar products I saw advertised elsewhere.

My wife and I have used these water-inflatable heavy-gauge vinyl dams to prevent excess water from a slope from flooding our crawlspace, coming in through cracks in our foundation. Bottom line - these things are great; they're easy to fill (even without the recommended hose attachment), they fill fairly quickly from a standard hose, and they're relatively durable (these ones lasted 2 years, even out in the sun for multiple months at a time, before cracking from old age). On that last note however, regarding my "relatively durable" comment - our latest replacement barriers have met their match against a raccoon whom I'll call "Chompy." One late evening, my wife and I were awoken by sloshing sounds coming from outside our window where we had placed the Hydrabarriers. We thought they were raccoons and thought nothing of it. To our surprise, Chompy had assumed three of our Hydrabarriers were either a giant sausage or some sort of animal waterbed, and had left multiple two-fang bite marks and rips all along our barriers. And while patches were thoughtfully included by the manufacturer, they obviously never considered that we would need more than one per barrier to cover Chompy's Evening (Hydrabarrier) Chompfest. At a price of roughly $1/patch, it's worth it to patch the barriers, but for now while Chompy is resident in the area, I'm going to transition to the gel-based WaterDam products. At least if Chompy comes back, he'll get a mouthful of gel and polyester mesh.

We needed something instead of heavy sandbags to divert water on our carport during heavy rains in Florida. When we leave for the summer (we are snowbirds) we wanted something to help prevent water from flooding our carport. We placed them across our carport and filled with water. During a heavy rainstorm our neighbor said they diverted the water off our carport. When we return we will empty the water out of them, let dry and store for next year. NO MORE HEAVY SANDBAGS.

Works great to stop the water but also easy to roll a bike or wheelbarrow over when you need to. When the rainy season is over it will be easy to store unlike sandbags that start to degrade and you have spilled sand everywhere.

Did not work against Hurricane Helene. We bought three. As the Gulf of Mexico flooded our home these silly things floated neighborhoods away. It wasn’t a rush of water either. It was a slow rising water. As we were prepping one had a leak out of the box. Not worth the effort, get sandbags. I recovered all three of mine and threw them away. You can see someone else fell for this gimmick. It’s sitting at the front of our development and protecting this tree.
