We wanted to have a beginner keyboard for our young grandson to experiment with. Reading the reviews, I understood that the sound quality was not going to be like a "real" piano, but the goal is to have something solid enough for a 3 year old to play on, and even introduce a few musical concepts. The booklet included was very easy to understand directions for using all the features on this synth. I can now have my Cassio to myself! We were very pleased with how quickly it arrived, and in what great condition. Very simple to assemble the stand and attach the keyboard, and voila, working microphone and headset. He will be able to play to his heart's content while he's wearing the headphones. The bench that is included is durable, comfortable, and is adjustable for 3 heights. I would even recommend this for beginner adults who might want to test out piano playing. The only drawback is that the mic doesn't have a stand, and has to be held. It's a very low quality mic, but we were expecting that. We didn't want to pay a lot for something that wouldn't stand up to a young person's use. Got it for my 6 year old granddaughter who was just starting lessons. Perfect size for her bedroom and comes with everything she needs except the teacher, who comes separately :) Seems to be good quality for the price.

    • Good keyboard for kids
We bought this keyboard as a present for our musically inclined 7 year-old grandson. We wanted a "starter" keyboard to gauge his interest before purchasing more advanced. I wasn't able to find answers to some of my questions, so I'm adding this information for others. Overall, I think this product is a good fit for our needs. Good: The keyboard has lots of buttons and features. There are many instrument voices, including a couple of passable "grand piano" ones, and a wide range of percussion voices as well. There is a built-in metronome, and the internal speaker is decent. You can "transpose" the output in half-steps to match a vocal range. There is a "record" function, which will play back recorded passages. The headphones are ok, adjustable size. The stand and seat are of good quality and sturdy. The keyboard bolts onto the stand and is pretty light, so sits pretty steady. Not so good: The keys are not velocity sensitive - striking the key hard gives the same volume as pressing it slowly. The key touch is very light. The "record" feature only plays back each keypress - you can't record and play back a chord. The keys are smaller than standard (but maybe good for small hands). The enclosed manual is only a few pages and covers only a fraction of the features - experimentation will be required to figure out all the buttons. The high end of the volume range is much too loud for headphone use, especially for children. ... show more

A hard working single mom with two young children who works at the local Nail Salon that I frequent was the recipient of this keyboard as a gift. Months ago she had mentioned how she wished she had the time and resources to get back to music and playing the keyboard. Remembering this - I immediately turned to Amazon to arrange a surprise for her. The price and excellent features of the Best Choice Products 61-Key Beginners Electronic Keyboard Piano Set surpassed my expectations. It had everything necessary to restart a musical mind and deliver much more. The kit literally does include everything you need. With the Covid-19 situation - the salon was closed. The keyboard arrived the last day the salon was open. You'd think that something like this is good to make music. My gift did more. It produced the most joyful tears of happiness... and since then has brought new happy times and future memories of the time she has had with the two kids - playing together as a family. Out of the box - it was easy to set up. All reports are this looks and feels like some keyboards that cost hundreds of dollars more. If you miss your keyboards of know of a quarantined loved one that would appreciate a perfect gift ... this is it. Do something good and make music while we sort out our distanced times. Very good setup for the price, you can get started right away (Took 20 minutes from Box to hitting the keys). All in all the only gripe I have is the sound quality, and some of the stuff isn't fully necessary but bad alternatives included. Pros - * Very good for a beginner, easy to setup and get going * Stand has options for various heights (very good stand for the price here) * Really simple to setup (20 minutes or so, and this was without labels Cons - * Headphones are really bad, go out and buy a 20 dollar pair and you will be happy * Microphone i wont even bother testing, it feels like a kids toy * Keyboard had a broken C# key and a barely functioning C key on the left side of the board All in all, if you aren't sure if you want to learn the piano and dont want to spend 700 dollars to find out, this is a great alternative, I dont even mind the broken keys as I am planning on upgrading to a better keyboard when I start using them anyways, the only thing that sucks is the sound, the tone is very electronic, its really only good for gauging whether you want to commit to learning or not.
