  • Completely New to Piano/Keyboard.
When I say I'm am a Beginner that isn't some code or anything; I have literally NO experience with Keyboards at all so this review is going to be what I've learned after the Week or so I've had this and I'm going to go straight off the Star Ratings so everything makes sense. 2 Star for Beginner (Barely) - I Rated it 2 out of 5 because it does have features that are easy to use and the setup is very very easy. I wasn't sure when this arrived if I would need any sort of special tools to put anything together or maybe some other random thing might go wrong but no, nothing went wrong it's very easy to setup and get started. The Keys themselves are essentially just plastic and they don't have any weight really so while you are learning you may even feel them bend a bit which is just super weird. The lights which I thought would help me is actually just for show, those things are like going to give you a very very vague idea of some things but it doesn't TEACH you anything and I realized it after the 1st Week where I realize "I can't read Notes on Sheet Music what good are the Lights"? See the Lights (If you were to practice just on those songs) could eventually teach you how to play the programmed songs but you wouldn't really know what you are playing only mimicing what the lights told you to do. Oh well though it's still just a beginner / starting keyboard, the lights are honestly just something there so they can advertise it a little better. 1 Star for Sound Quality - This probably isn't going to be a Huge Deal if you are like me and you are just wanting to learn to play and read sheet music; however this Quality of Sound is actually very bad, I'm learning how to play Notes at the same time and that's when you really get to see how Low Quality this thing is, luckily Headphones help but if you are using any sort of Piano App (Like ME) you just have to deal with it; it's basically like one of the Worse sounds I've ever heard a Musical Instrument Make but TECHNICALLY it is In Tune, it's mostly the Speakers are just really really bad Value for Money - Does it Sound Good? Well Single Notes It's Fine but once you get into Chords and things like that it's really really awful BUT that doesn't mean the Value is bad, actually this is a prime example of "Get what you Paid for". This thing comes with some Headphones that prolly are like 2 bucks to make but they aren't bad or anything, it has a stand for the keyboard and a little cheap seat for you and you know maybe you could say it could be priced at like 89 or maybe even 79 even with the stand and seat but you have to remember what this keyboard is, honestly if you are a true beginner with no piano background this is actually a decent buy (slightly overpriced but oh well). You may ask (if you read all that) Why is it a decent buy even though I rated it so low. Here's the thing, we all know that if we are buying this for a real beginner whether they are Adult or Child it's always with the realization that hey "They (I) may not actually like learning this instrument" or "It breaks" ofc those are just 2 scenarios but the fact is are you comfortable spending 500-2000 dollars on a more full sleek professional sounding keyboard as a COMPLETE beginner who has never picked up a instrument? What this is fulfills it's place where we (the student) know that it's difficult and maybe won't want to learn it anymore after a few weeks or even months. Rather than investing in some super fancy pants Keyboard we go for this Keyboard that is probably only going to last for 2 months maybe 3 if I'm honest, it's so weird sometimes looking at it because it looks like something out of the 80s or 90s so yeah I do expect to replace this fairly soon provided i continue playing BUT if this last for 3 months or longer and I learn on it, I'll feel pretty ok about it. Should you buy this Piano expecting it to "Teach" you? No, I thought it would help me but honestly even if I can play the first song it still didn't teach me anything about the Piano it's basically like one of those self playing pianos back in the 30s. If you buy this just know it isn't high quality in any way but here's the thing; if you aren't sure if Piano is right for you then THAT's actually the Selling point and the Reason to Buy this Keyboard or one similar. Also, invest in Simply Piano App, after a week I actually can read some notes and finger positioning as well and just frankly speaking there aren't any short cuts but that app seems to make this process a little more smooth at least in the very beginning. ... show more

  • Very good instrument for beginners
I bought it for my 8 year old son who just started piano classes. He loved it from the first day, especially built-in music and light-up keys. He kept listening to them and following the light-up keys. After couple of days he could already play Beethoven - Für Elise. I am very satisfied with this purchase and think that it would be a great asset to anybody who wants to learn to play a piano. ... show more

  • Great value for a beginner’s product!
Well, I’m very satisfied with the purchase! For $135, I personally think it’s an excellent deal! You’re not going to get the BEST keyboard/studio ever for this price, so don’t expect anything top quality. That’s just ridiculous to expect for the price point. It’s a product for beginners. However, I’m pretty amazed at the quality for the price, and all of the functions that this thing can do. I’ve been experimenting with the many different timbres (instrument sounds) and rhythms (background beats) that this has, and I love it! I haven’t even gotten to testing the recording feature yet, so I’ll update this review if I can in the future. I didn’t intend to buy this for recording/producing purposes, but I’m getting more and more interested in the attempt! Only drawbacks so far, as some people have pointed out, are that it’s pretty loud at its preset volume, and goes back to its preset volume/features each time it’s turned back on. The keys’ sensitivity is a bit annoying, but good at the same time. They’re not weighted or even semi-weighted, so it’s expected. Addressing some of the complaints I’ve seen: For the “learning” songs playing too fast to keep up with - the playback speed is adjustable. Simply lower the tempo when the song is on. Changing the timbre/rhythm is easy as well. Press either of those buttons, then key in the number of the timbre/rhythm you want to change to. It gives you a few seconds to do so. If you’re looking for a drum instrument, the drum sounds (among others) are available when you press the “keyboard percussion” button. They’re labeled with a picture of each instrument sound above the keys. ... show more

  • Great learning piano
My 10yo son had really been enjoying his keyboard and the light up function makes it so easy to follow. I paired this piano with online music lessons from BYJU when he was quarantined for Covid and he excited to play for us. The piano is light and easy to move about - the only thing making it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the demo songs are hard to navigate thru, wish it had an option to show the left hand lights, and the volume always resets to 10 (very loud!) after power cycles. Otherwise, it is a great learning keyboard for kids and highly recommended by myself and my son. ... show more
