  • Great product and even better customer service
Color: Black / Photochromic Lens
After extensive research I ended up with both the Bertoni 333 and Wiley X SG-1 for my MTB application. For me, the Bertoni 333s are much more comfortable on technical downhills where the helmet bounces on the top of the glasses frame. They have a wider field of view, and of course the photochromic advantage vs. the SG-1, where you have to manually swap out lenses. As others have noted, the Bertoni photochromic lenses don't get completely dark, but this is actually an advantage for my application, which often involves trail riding in heavily wooded areas with constantly changing light conditions. The Bertonis are not ballistic impact rated as the SG-1 is, but I sincerely hope not to test that feature. Perhaps I'll keep the SG-1s in the event I decide to ride my bike in an active combat zone. I did have a problem with delivery of the Bertonis and had to contact customer service. As other reviewers have noted, Stefano replied promptly and professionally and completely resolved the issue. In my experience, you should feel completely confident that Bertoni customer service will come through for you should a problem arise. ... show more

  • UPDATE 7-21-20 resolved. I would not hesitate to purchase anything from this company.
Color: Black / Photochromic Lens
Update 7-21-20 I contacted Bertoni Eyewear and I received a response very quickly from Stefano requesting that I sent pictures of the broken piece. That same day I received an email that a new pair of glasses were going to be sent and shortly after I received confirmation replace glasses were on their way with a FedEx priority tracking number. I'm completely impressed with Stefano and Bertoni Eyewear's customer service and very pleased with the outcome, I would not hesitate for a second to purchase anything from this company. I purchased these in FEB 2020 and was very happy with these glasses right until the small thin piece of plastic part that retains one of the interchangeable arms broke and one of the arms will not stay attached to the glasses. I purchased these glasses solely for motorcycle riding and have been very careful with these glasses. Not sure what stressed or caused the break which occurred while I was removing them with my helmet on. I don't use the interchangeable arms so I guess I can probably crazy glue the arm back on and they will work fine. I would purchase this brand again but would likely look for ones without interchangeable arms for more durability. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
Color: Black / Photochromic Lens
These are great motorcycle googles/glasses and would have no problem recommending them. They’re very comfortable when wearing them with my arai helmet, and when I have my visor up the padding stops wind from hitting my eyes at all speeds. My only request for a future iteration is that it would be nicer if they could get a little bit darker and if The foam padding was harder to remove since currently they come out pretty easily. ... show more

Don't listen to some on here. These glasses get very dark when in sunlight. I have bought 3 pairs in 6 yrs

  • Work Great!
Color: Black / Photochromic Polarized Yellow Lens
Just used the Bertoni's on a 20 mile ride and they worked great! The lenses transitioned quickly once I got in the sun and the wind while riding was not an issue. I really like the polarized lenses that basically eliminated glare from other windshields. I did a lot of research and chose these because they are photochromic, polarized and offer wind protection. It was tough finding glasses with all these festures. ... show more

  • Poor Design, Poor Quality
Color: Black / Photochromic Polarized Yellow Lens
Very disappointed. I found these glasses to be worse than your typical gas station glasses. No photochromic action as advertised. The "lenses" themselves are paper thin; to the point they popped out of the frame when I tried to lightly clean them. Would provide little or no protection from rocks/bugs hitting you while riding. The removable gasket on the back to help keep air out of your eyes is so small that it significantly impairs my peripheral vision. IMHO, definitely not safe for motorcycle use and definitely not worth the price. ... show more

  • Not for bicycling in freezing weather
Color: Black / Photochromic Lens
I was so excited to receive these as I bicycle year-round in Montana. The main reason I purchased them was for the anti-fog element and the polychromatic lens. Unfortunately, they fog up while bicycling in cold weather while wearing a face mask, then actually freeze on the inside lens with a thin layer of ice, even after removing the inner frame with the sponge lining. So disappointed! After this experience, I looked at my older, no-fog glasses and realized they have two tiny vents at the top of each lens. This small feature makes a world of difference in keeping the lenses from fogging up while wearing a face mask. I wish Bertoni would follow suit as they do seem to make a quality product, minus the fogging issue. ... show more

  • The freezer trick is key!
Color: Black / Photochromic Lens
If you don't think your Bertonis are changing when exposed to sunlight, clean them and then put them in the freezer for two hours. After that, take them out and place them in DIRECT SUNLIGHT for 15-30 minutes. By then they should be quite dark. From then on, they'll lighten and darken depending on the sunlight with no problem. Also, if the windshield of your car/truck has UV screening, the glasses will most likely NOT darken while you're in your vehicle. It's the intensity of the Sun's UV rays that make the lenses darken. Cheers! ... show more
