  • Excellent monitor for Mac users. Color accuracy is pretty close
Style: 32" UHD | Mac- Ready Ergo Arm Mount
I watched sooooooooo many videos on monitors before I decided to go with this one. It really came down to the LG 32" 4k Ergo or This model. I will definitely say that having a 32 inch screen is kind of insanely huge and probably would have been ok with a 27" but I digress this purchase was definitely worth it for the size and available screen real estate. I ended going with BenQ because the warranty was a bit better and the customer service is much better than LG... if any of you have had to deal with LG customer service then I'm totally sorry. The ergo arm on this monitor was easy to put together and easy to get the monitor working. Absolutely nowhere positively mentions what size cables you'll need for your setup so I will safely say that after putting this thing together that 2M length cables are a minimum requirement. The 1M length ones it came with are not sufficient for length and I have my Mac Studio right under it on my desk. After purchasing a 2M length cable there was just a lot more freedom so I definitely say don't waste your time with 1 or 1.5M length and just start with 2M length cables. As far as color calibration goes, the Mbook mode stock was pretty close to my new MBP Pro (Newest M3 Pro version) There is a very slight color difference but it really is not something that was too insane. The colors were depicting very close to each other on both the screen and my MBP. I design packaging and the colors that printed were very close to the screen so I'm pretty happy. I am sure that at some point I will have to get a color calibration tool but hopefully that is further down the line than anytime soon. The LG 32" 4K Ergo, does have a very similar arm on it, though I think that the Ben Q version feels less cheap and more solid. The screen profile on the Ben Q is much larger than the LG counterpart BUT the BenQ has the power supply built in so you don't have the giant power brick that the LG comes with... yes it's gigantic. Having the power supply built in really really works with cable management under desk on a tray because you don't have to worry about a giant power brick. I have this paired with a Screenbar Halo Plus and it fits very well. I highly suggest a desk lamp if you don't have one. I didn't think that it was going to come in handy but in the end it's very very very handy and has the two color temps to work with which is nice for day to night use. The Hotkey Puck comes in clutch... no need to worry about pressing any buttons except for the power button which is easily accessible on the bottom right corner on the back. Using this on my Mac it does go to sleep and will wake as soon as I hit the mouse or trackpad. So there's really no need to actually shut the monitor off. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase I just hope that it doesn't take a crap in less than a couple of years because it is quite pricey to replace. ... show more

  • Excellent monitor
Style: 32" 4K | Mac-Ready Pantone Monitor | Hot...
I moved up to this BenQ PD3205u 31.5" 4K monitor from a 27" Viewsonic VP2770 (1440p). I don't do gaming and the main use was picture quality and color accuracy. I found that the Viewsonic screen wasn't big enough to open two things side by side - they always seemed to overlap unless I made them too small to be useful and able to read. I hated to give up the Viewsonic, but in using this BenQ, the overlap problem is now solved. Plus, the color accuracy and picture quality of the4K screen is terrific. The BenQ is a superb bang for the buck monitor and I am extremely pleased with it! Some random comments: > Setup was simple once I figured out that I needed to use the buttons on the back of the bottom right side of the display to choose my connection type (Display Port). > I am using it with my Windows 11 desktop and that has Intel i5-12600 processor (handles up to a 60 HZ refresh rate). There is no video card in my build and the performance has been flawless for editing photos in Adobe Lightroom. > The hockey puck takes a few minutes to figure out and works well. It isn't something I thought I would need, but I am surprised about how much I am using it and how convenient it is. > Matte, non-reflective screen is great (and I am sitting beside a window in my office). > The display is more than bright enough. > The Ergo adjustments are smooth and easy to do. > Have not/will not use the speakers since I have a really nice stereo bookshelf speaker audio setup. > By itself, the price seems a bit high. However, when comparing to other 4K displays of this size, it is a good value. Especially with the Ergo capacity, hockey puck and broad range of adjustments available. I don't hesitate in highly recommending this monitor, but mention again that I don't do gaming. ... show more

  • Excellent monitor for software development
Style: 32" 4K | Mac-Ready Pantone Monitor | Hot...
I wanted more visual space for software development using IntelliJ and this 32 inch monitor is a nice improvement over the 27 inch equivalent BenQ monitor that I've been using for a couple of years. It is super clear and easy on the eyes. It is large enough to have 4 windows, or more, open at the same time and still be able to navigate through the content and have room for the project navigation, terminal and git hub windows. The 27 inch BenQ left me wanting for more space and the 32 inch fits the bill perfectly. I considered a wide/curved monitor but the resolution on those types of monitors is not that great. Now I have the 32 inch monitor along-side the 27 and it's a nice combination. As for the sound quality... the description reads 'premium audio' and that is a major overstatement for sure. The audio on this monitor is better than its 27 inch equivalent but it still has a long ways to go to be 'premium audio'. Its not terrible but not that great either. The audio from the built-in speakers of a MacBook pro is far better. I got this stand for the monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779JSRH5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and it works pretty well. Its nice because it frees up desk space under the monitor, The only minor draw-back is that the monitor wobbles a bit when I'm typing aggressively. ... show more

  • Great Value

Looks great. Color is accurate. Wish it was a tad brighter, but overall this monitor meets many of the video production specs more expensive models do, but more affordably.

  • Very nice monitor

This is a nice, factory-calibrated monitor. It's the second one I've purchased and I enjoy using them both for video editing and color grading.
