  • Almost Perfect
This monitor is almost perfect. I don't have a lot to compare it to, as this is the first monitor I've purchased in close to 15 years. Yes, that's correct - I've been using monitors from 2006-2007 up to this point. The picture quality is absolutely outstanding. There is some light bleed on the edges, which is pretty standard with most monitors, but it's only visible on very dark images, and when viewed from a proper 90° angle it's not noticeable. The monitor is fast, and works with Gsync. HDR works, but again, I have nothing to compare it to. The colors are amazing. Refresh rate is amazing. I do not notice ghosting like I did with my old 1ms monitor. Contrast is so amazing that when I fired up MW5 I was absolutely blown away. Lasers are blindingly bright against a dark background. The stand is fully adjustable and very heavy-duty. The monitor has a built-in light sensor and can tweak the brightness based on ambient light. This is very useful because this monitor is FRIGGIN BRIGHT. I set the brightness to 56 and it's still MUCH brighter than my old monitor. Downsides: The monitor took a lot of tweaking to get it to stop going black during gaming. It happened most in certain games, but the monitor would act like it lost signal for 3-5 seconds and go black. It was pretty annoying. Turning off Gsync fixed the problem, but I bought this monitor to use Gsync. I forced Windows to install the correct drivers for the monitor, and also used CRU to set the bottom end of the Gsync refresh rate higher and it solved nearly all of the blackscreen issues. I still have one game where the monitor will occasionally go black, so more tweaking is required. Also, the company is Chinese, so the on-screen display does not use terms that are easily understandable. The box has a hilarious mix of Engrish on it. The motto is "More You Can Be" - which I find utterly hilarious. Bottom line, the monitor is not extremely user-friendly. Like I said, I had to tweak it a bunch and the OSD isn't easy to figure out. If you're not a power-user or an enthusiast, you should probably steer clear. If you don't mind tweaking something that you got a really good deal on, then this monitor is a tremendous value. EDIT: After using this monitor for a year, I'd like to revise my review. Originally, I docked a star because I was having a lot of black-screen flashing issues. Since then, I have built a new PC and no longer have any black-screen issues. After much testing, I came to the conclusion that the original issue was caused by my GTX 1060 SSC switching between different overclock modes automatically. As the card either increased or decreased clock values based on the temperature and desired framerate, it would cause black screen problems with this monitor. I now have a RTX 3060 Ti and have zero black screen issues. I also no longer have any problem running this monitor at 144hz all the time. ... show more

  • Amazing monitor! Perfect for next gen consoles!
I’m writing an honest review, I’m not paid or sponsored (I wish). To cut right to the chase, this monitor is amazing and worth every penny. Once I learned the specs of the PS5 I started to research monitors pretty heavily. For background purposes I mainly play FPS, or Call of Duty, so I prefer to game on a monitor. I was bummed to learn that there isn’t a single monitor as of yet that allows for 4K gaming at 120hz through a 2.1 HDMI connection. Without 2.1 HDMI, you will be capped at 4K/60hz unless you opt for 1080p/120. I debated a 4K monitor for a while but I eventually decided that the boost on frames per second is more exciting. Besides, I don’t think the visual improvements would be there great at arm’s length. I also have a Vizio M series TV that I’ll like use for Spider-Man. I used a BenQ 75 hz TN panel for a good two years without a single issue. No dead pixels or anything. Upon starting this new monitor I was instantly blown away. Going from TN to IPS is just like everyone claims it to be. It’s night and day. Colors pop, it’s so much brighter. I always hesitated to purchase an IPS monitor due to the higher response times but now with 1ms available it’s a no brainer. As one reviewer said, you CAN have your cake and eat it to. Until 4K monitors with 2.1 HDMI roll out, or maybe if PS5 allows for 2k resolution (Xbox series X has this already), I truly feel this is the best 1080p/144hz monitor out there. It looks extremely modern with slim bezels and a matte coating to the screen. Also, the stand is just amazing! Extremely functional. Don’t hesitate! Buy it now! Just click it! • Great 144hz freesync monitor even if it's a tad more expensive than some others
I've had this monitor for about 2 weeks and the switch from 60hz to 144hz freesync has completely changed how I'm enjoying my games. It's breathed new life into games that I had lost interest in. As far as "calibrating" the monitor, I've done a lot of research and played around with the settings and this monitor is capable of some pretty good HDR and even if you don't use HDR, a lot of people seem to really like the fps color mode this monitor offers. Me personally, I tend to obsess over tweaking settings for my hardware so this monitor's offered "hdri" modes which automatically adjust themselves depending on light conditions is a godsend. I've been leaving my monitor on "game hdri" which emulates hdr by adjusting colors and contrast on the fly so I don't have to deal with adjusting the monitor myself. It can be a little dark compared to tweaking the settings myself, but if I turn the brightness up in my games, the monitor looks amazing compared to the stock standard settings. I switched back from game hdri to standard settings and everything looked washed out by comparison (even if that washed out image still looked much much better than my 7 year old monitor that this one replaced.) Overall, I'm extremely happy I purchased this monitor and it was the best upgrade I've ever made for my computer. I don't know why I was still using my almost decade old monitor when the monitor is arguably the most important part of a gaming computer. ... show more
