It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble, with toddlers running around! The instructions were clear and the parts were well marked. Nothing was damaged and I felt like it was packed really well to prevent any sort of damage. The drawers slide very nicely and the bottom drawers have rails for hanging files. It is a very heavy, sturdy desk. It will take two people to set the desktop down as you build- I’m not sure if I could have done it alone. Also, note that it comes in two heavy boxes. The pieces came in two boxes with lots of styrofoam between them. They were very well protected. The directions were simply detailed using plenty of step-by-step pictures. I did it myself and it took a lot more time than they suggested. When it comes, make sure you start the screws for the support bracket in the side with the small holes already there. It looks great. I wanted an executive desk that wasn't too expensive. I have gray laminate flooring in my office, and the Rustic Gray matches perfectly. Note that gray flooring and this dark gray desk are both brownish-gray, not bluish-gray. Important: if you are not familiar with putting desks together, it won't take only an hour as some people said. It took my daughter and me two DAYS to put together. The instructions were tiny, we put some pieces on backwards, and we couldn't get the tons of circular latch things to tighten around the screws. It was frustrating and the pieces were heavy. We both got bruised. But once the desk was finished, it was stunning. It was worth the price and the time to put it together. Like others said, there was a large scratch and a tiny chunk of board missing, but thankfully they were not in noticeable places. No problems with the drawers or anything. I am extremely happy with this desk. It is perfect for our home office. The shipment arrived in two separate boxes a day apart and quicker than I anticipated. One box was damaged and a couple of the pieces were cracked. I sent pictures to the seller and they quickly shipped me a new box, free of charge. It took my boyfriend and I a little over an hour to put together. It would have been difficult to do by myself and would have taken much longer. The desk is sturdy and beautiful. Beautiful desk. We were disappointed upon opening however that there was a small chunk missing out of the corner, a small scratch down the middle top part of the desk and part of the side strip coming apart. We wrote the seller and they were quick to reply. Instead of dealing with shipping back they asked if we would like $55 and keep it as is. We agreed to that seeing as my husband could glue that one strip back down and for that price we’ll just deal with that smaller corner chunk not being perfect. It's a good-looking desk in all of the right proportions. Wasn't the easiest to put together, especially when we realized we were supposed to receive two boxes and got one. We got the second one two days later.

After putting the base together, we realized the top didn’t fit properly. We went through all the steps and assured each piece was where it should be. The top holes weren’t cut correctly with the trim. The holes did not align with the screws on the bottom half. So, now the top just balances on. Not the best but it’ll do.
