It’s a standard built styrofoam bicycle helmet with a cool looking face protector and visor. I actually would prefer this over a supposedly “sturdier” helmet, because I want the helmet to absorb as much impact as possible. With daily use, the fabric liner will probably start wearing out in a year or so but then you’ll want a new helmet then anyway.

Before purchasing, do some research on fit. This is a very good value for the money paid for it, but will only perform as well as it fits. The Sanction helmet was originally marketed as a youth helmet, but Bell has expanded that to some adult sizes- make sure to get accurate measurements before purchasing, and definitely be sure to consult Bell's sizing chart for the helmet. Quality/construction: Feels very solid and well-made. Not many features or options but for a full-face helmet that retails for $80, what do you expect? The fit is quite nice, perhaps a little bit snug in the facial/cheek padding, but this is to be expected in order to stabilize the helmet. Recommend wearing a mouth guard when using this helmet to make sure you don't chew up the inside of your mouth. For a full-face helmet at this price, it's surprisingly light. I had no problems wearing it for 4+ hours riding Highland with it. Visor is slightly adjustable vertically.

After a scary spill and some dental work, I purchased this helmet for my 8 year old. We ride local trails here in central Washington. While the helmet does not vent as well as regular helmets, the extra protection is worth it. Before we purchased this helmet my son took a scary spill and landed on his face and broke a permanent tooth. While it could have been worse, it was still bad. Needless to say, hindsight is 20/20. He now wears this helmet on all of our rides. He says that it's comfortable, easy to see out of and looks really cool. He wears the small and it fits perfectly. It's also light enough that it does not put additional strain on his neck and shoulders. I also picked up a medium for when he outgrows this one soon. So, if you are looking for a helmet that provides face protection at an affordable cost, look no further. By the way, my wife is a dental hygienist at a pediatric dental clinic. She now suggests full face helmets for children who bike ride on trails.

Like other reviewers, I have always found Bell helmets to be very good. They fit my head great, so I got this for my dare devil 2.5 yo for his balance bike (his head size is that of an average 5 yo, and the S fit great). Soon after getting the helmet he tested it by face landing an endo, and he was completely fine. The helmet is comfy so he is remarkably willing to wear it every time he rides. Some Non-Bell helmet we used for skiing was so uncomfortable that we didn't get he to even get the neck buckle buckled. Yes this helmet rocks. He wears it, he's safe, he's proud of it, and he looks hardcore cute. Great padding, easy to use buckle, good vents, durable enamel, etc. We got it in the white/blue/black/yellow pattern for his first helmet (awesome), but are going for orange his second. Maybe throw a KTM sticker on it someday. Highly recommended for kids. I think full face helmets should be the top pick for kids. We are so happy with this Bell helmet, it's like it's part of the family now.

Mid 20's woman here. Purchased for mountain biking. I usually wear a small in motorcycle helmets (shoei and hjc, street and moto). I ordered a medium since it seems like this helmet runs small and that's true! The medium fits a bit tight, but I decided to keep it since I haven't had any discomfort or issues. Very light weight, I typically forget I'm wearing it and the black is sleek. I think it's a great quality helmet for not a lot of $$.

A awesome helmet for the price, very light super good-looking helmet but the cheek pads were way way too tight and it definitely run small glad I bought a large even though I normally wear a medium, anyway I cut some of the cheek padding out and re stitched it so if you have the ability to do that I would recommend this helmet I would have given it 5 Stars if the cheap pads weren't so tight
