I like that the phone can be charged on the pad with the case on if the case is not too thick or metal. Neither of which is the case for me. Unfortunately though I use a pop socket and cannot charge it with the pop socket attached to the case. I think this would be apply for any wireless charging pad. So although I can charge it without removing my phone from the case, I would have to remove the pop socket, something I am loathe to do. I do not like that the pad does not charge itself. I cannot use the pad as a portable charger as it must be plugged in to charge. This too is probably true at least for now for other wireless charge pads. I did not realize this when I bought this with my new iPhone (just as I did not realize how much of a misnomer “wireless” ear buds was before AirPods). This is a sleek, quality product at a more than reasonable price. Unfortunately I won’t get as much use out of it as I thought because of the (probably universal) limitations above. ... show more

    • Quality and simplicity for my iPhone X
I have an iPhone X and I initially got this charger because the port to my phone was getting dirty and I would have to hold the cord charger to it at a certain angle for it to charge. But given the choice I would still choose this wireless charger. The only down side is with traveling you have to make room for a disk instead of just a bundled cord and it doesn’t charge as quickly as a normal iPhone cord. But the pros are that you can simply set your phone down and instantly have it charge. I have one for my bedroom and one for the living room. All the guests love it and it is always a quick topic of discussion. It is a little picky on how exact the phone is set down on it as it per much has to be centered perfectly to charge but it is easy to get used to. I recognized the Belkin name and this feels and works like a quality charger. Highly recommend it ... show more

Have had this Belkin 7.5 w model about a month and it works great with my iPhone 8. Charge time seems better than with 5 w brick and lighting cable - but I have not made any exact measurements. My iPhone has a sleeve on it, maybe 1 mm on the back. I did make some quick measurements with my watt-hr meter (measuring the AC power into the Belkin power brick). With my iPhone about 50% charged, the AC draw is 7-8 watts. As the phone approaches full charge, the AC input power decreases to about 1 watt - so charging has essentially stopped, which is what you want. When charging at 50% charge, the phone gets slightly warm. When fully charged, it is barely warm. You need to place the phone in the center of the charger, which is easy - and when placed correctly the green light comes on. The green light stays on even when fully charged. It goes off when you remove the phone. I rate this unit as excellent, and it works the way I think a wireless charger should work (ie, charges pretty quick, stops charging when fully charged, phone does not overheat, OK with sleeve on phone, convenient green light when phone properly placed on charger). ... show more

This makes charging my iPhone very easy but: pay attention when you lay your phone on the charger. You need to make sure that the green light on the pad comes on AND that your phone acknowledges that it is charging. It's quite easy to misalign it and a couple of times I've awakened in the morning to find that (bumped by a cat in the night? Careless human placement?) the phone has not charged.     • Don't listen to the negative reviews! They must be new to the wireless phone charging game.
Exceeded my expectations. I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews about the charger being finicky about the way the phone must be placed on the pad. However, I've placed the phone on the charger a few dozen times since receiving it today and have yet to not have it connect properly and start charging the phone. I have tried it both without a case and with my Apple leather case and it works perfectly either way. There is a rubberized circle around the center of the pad that keeps the phone in place without a case, so I really don't understand what people are doing that is causing it to slip off of the pad as some have claimed. I'm not saying that couldn't happen, only that I would have to try make an effort to reproduce it with mine. Don't let the negative reviews shy you away from this one. Perhaps it's just those iPhone users new to wireless charging that are having issues or different expectations. I've seen were some people complain that it's not really wireless because it must plug into the wall, so take that into consideration before faulting the Belkin Boost Up. I have experience with wireless chargers from using Android devices in the past so maybe I am having a better experience than some due to not having the learning curve on how to set it on the charger.     • Not fast charging
I got this for my husband for his birthday and he has one of the new Samsung phones and I have an iPhone. We tried the charger with both phones and it took a few hours to charge our phones verses plugging them in and having them fully charged within an hour. We used the fast charging blocks so we know it wasn’t an issue with that since they work completely fine with our regular chords. It’s a pretty decent price thought and charges the phone just not fast lol ... show more
