If you know duvets you know that they can be ludicrously expensive and "you get what you pay for". So when you see them at prices like these (I got mine on sale but the list price is still decently low) you don't set your expectations very high and tend to be happy if its at least comfy. I have only had mine a few days so I do need more time with it but so far its a winner for me, and that's considering I have slept with down duvets. Now, this is NOT a down duvet. Down duvets are really, really lovely and airy yet warm and feel like a soft hug. I won't try to tell you this is exactly like that. But you know what this has that down doesn't? A distinct lack of waking up with a feather poking you or finding one in your hair later (and the price tag isn't triple digits). Now, this duvet is still a soft hug! I am not saying it lacks those qualities either. Its just a little less luxurious of a hug. Its light but not too thin, the material is soft (but you should cover it to keep it safe either way) it kept me warm and cozy but not overheated. It fluffed up really nicely. I don't need my bed to look super puffy, its definitely got a decent enough level of fluff. I gave it a gentle wash and dry and it really does expand a good amount. This was a great budget option and I am really happy with it. If that changes, I will be back here with an update. ... show more

I love the dark grey color. The weight is just right, not to heavy and not to light. But the main positive is it does NOT smell. So often I buy something and the chemical or perfume smell is more than I can handle. The comforter smell is acceptable and I imagine, since I just opened the package, the slight/minimal smell will even dissipate over time. I’m very satisfied with this comforter. This is a great comforter for the price. We use it over a coverlet in our guest bedroom and it's the perfect weight. It reminds me a lot of a hotel comforter, so if you're wanting something thick and fluffy you need to look elsewhere. I've included a picture to give an indication of it's loft (of lack thereof). Even in a duvet cover, and folded back with the coverlet and top sheet it's still pretty flattish. I like that, you may prefer something else. ... show more

I got my comforter / insert in the mail today and was immediately impressed. It's sealed tight so it seems small in it's little box, but it immediately expands when you take it out and wash it. Read the washing instructions so you don't ruin it too! It requires some gentleness.
