This is going to be a little bit different kind of review than you usually see on here - this a memoir written by one of WWE's biggest superstars - and one of my favorites! - about her life in and out of the WWE and professional wrestling. I loved pulling the curtain back and seeing what goes on backstage, how a professional wrestling storyline is developed (or not), and all about Quin's life. Is it breaking the K-Fab wall? I don't know, but I love it! Writing Style: 9 - Quin's writing style is easy to follow and understand. It's enthusiastic and heartfelt. You could tell that it was Rebecca Quin/Becky Lynch) writing this and not a ghost writer. Quin's voice came through every page of this book perfectly. Content: 8.5 - I loved everything here. I just wanted more. Learning that she was afraid of heights (despite being a flight attendant!) - I wanted to know it felt being the TLC match. As a newer fan, (within the last 2 years or so), I wanted to see more of recent Becky. This book stops before I started watching Wrestling again. What was her wedding with Colby Lopez/Seth Rollins like? What is it like "at home" - the little time that they do get to spend at home. Roux! I want more Roux! But honestly, everything that was in there - I loved. Audiobook narration: 10 -Wow! I did an immersion read with this and yes! Best choice (thank you, John!). Listening to the audiobook was just like listening to a Becky Lynch promo. She read with confidence, emotion and passion and at a good pace. Enjoyment: 9.5 - I thoroughly enjoyed Becky Lynch: The Man - Not Your Average Average Man. I am so glad that I got to read this. (Thank you again, John for preordering this book for me.) Total: 37/4 = 9.25 = 5/5 stars!

A great read for a long-time WWE fan.

I've been a WWE fan for years, so diving into Becky Lynch's memoir was a no-brainer for me. From page one, her authentic voice shines through with a perfect blend of wit, honesty, and the same charisma that made her a standout in the ring. Unlike many wrestling autobiographies that rely on bombast or exaggeration, Lynch's writing feels refreshingly truthful, likely because she drew from journals she'd kept throughout her life. The book doesn't shy away from personal struggles, with Lynch candidly sharing her feelings of inadequacy that persisted even after reaching WWE's main roster. Even as SmackDown Women's Champion, she battled self-doubt - a refreshingly real admission from someone viewed as one of the most confident performers in wrestling. Her journey from Dublin troublemaker to flight attendant to wrestling superstar is filled with unexpected detours and setbacks that make her eventual triumph all the more satisfying. As she describes herself, she was "average in every aspect of life" until wrestling transformed her path. What I appreciated most was her behind-the-scenes perspective on pivotal moments in women's wrestling. She shares many of the same frustrations that fans experienced during what WWE dubbed the "Women's Revolution," often being pulled in directions that conflicted with the movement itself. The book is equally compelling whether you're a die-hard wrestling fan or someone who appreciates underdog stories of perseverance. Lynch writes with such natural humor and vulnerability that you can't help but root for her, just as millions do when she steps into the ring. This memoir stands among the best from any wrestler - male or female - and offers a template for future female superstars to tell their own stories.

"The Man: Not your average average girl" by Becky Lynch (Rebecca Quin) is an amazing memoir about the wrestling industry from a woman's point a view and promotes woman empowerment in a male dominated industry. The stories in this book are very meaningful and show Becky's determination to succeed in her dream of making a name for herself has a professional wrestler and doing whatever it takes to make her dream a reality .This book is broken down into 3 sections called : seasons which let's the reader take thier time and not feel rushed when learning about Becky's life .The pictures in this book help guide the story but are also the most meaningful moments in her wrestling career and in her life. This book helped show me that women in wrestling are more than just eye candy/divas but real professional athletes that can hold thier own with the men. This book gave me a profound respect for the wrestling industry as well as the wrestlers and everybody behind the scenes of the work that goes it every important wrestling event. This was my first wrestling memoir, but it won't be my last . Becky Lynch is an icon and a legend in women's wrestling. Her story , struggles and ambition made her into the force known as the Man we see both in and out of the ring today. The moniker "the Man" embodies Lynch's resilience to be the best at the sport she loves and strength, she shows in her personal life. She won't back down ,she won't be stopped and won't take any crap from anybody that tries to  deter her journey. Interesting insight

Interesting look into the life of WWE superstar Becky Lynch and her rise to the top. The book is good, especially if you're a fan of Becky. But some of it reads awkwardly. I appreciate that Becky wanted to write it herself but the editor needed to do a better job of cleaning up sentence structure and punctuation. She also comes off a little egotistical in some instances while in others she's extremely self conscious. I enjoyed it but there are some flaws.

An Exceptional Book for Average Humans

Rebecca's talent with the written word is exceptional. Her descriptive words make it easy for the reader to paint a picture or visualize exactly what she is talking about even though we have never done some of the things she has. It's easy for someone to feel like they're in the same shoes because wrestler or not most humans have had the exact same feelings, doubts, and thoughts. Becky's personality comes out of the pages.. I listened to the audiobook as I was reading the physical book and it just brings it to life and helps interpret the words as she meant it to be read. The book is incredible, insightful, emotional, comical, meaningful and entertaining. Mick Foley said it is one of the most important wrestling books written in the last 10 years, I say it's one of the most important books written in the last 10 years! In my opinion, it's not a wrestling book, it's a book about being human, fighting for the things you want, and proof that what's meant to be will be!

Hilarious, raw, honest and full of grit!

I wasn’t a Pro Wrestling fan until I learned about Becky Lynch. Suppose I was judging it as silly and over the top without ever giving it a chance by educating myself. This book isn’t just for wrestling fans at all. This is a story about overcoming all odds with relentless perseverance. It’s a coming of age story about a young woman facing down her insecurities and pushing forward despite self-doubt. I highly recommend it to everyone. Several moments had me stopping and laughing hysterically, re-reading that part, and laughing some more. This woman can write and it’s a total page turner. Becky is a woman who uplifts other women. She’s an exemplary role model. My 15 year old daughter, who doesn’t like to read much, read it in a day and a half and LOVED it! There is some coarse language and some mild sexual content. If someone wants to read this book, they can handle all of that. I hope she writes another book!
