These shelves arrived in boxes that were pretty beat up with ripped open cardboard and styrofoam coming out of the holes. But the materials inside were not damaged at all. They were easy to put together alone. I’d recommend having a vacuum handy every step of the way bc there was a ton of styrofoam stuck to most everything. Do the top and 2 bottom shelves first with the unit lying down. And definitely use a drill! For the price, I’d say they are a good value! They look very nice and are sturdy. The wood is fake but is a pretty good fake! The only complaint I have is the joints on one side do not meet up. I put a couple close up images in the review. This fits perfectly with a desk I recently ordered for my home office. The packing was very heavy, and hard to carry without a cart. It was also poorly packaged by amazon (not the manufacturer). Other than that, it took me about 45 mins to assemble by myself, you do need a star head screwdriver as tools aren’t provided. The shelves themselves are very thick and heavy which I believe adds to the sturdiness. There are wall anchor screws as well - I didn’t use them as I don’t want to drill into the wall while renting, but I will for sure when I move. In the meantime, if you don’t screw this into the wall, be sure to place heaviest items on the lower shelves to avoid it toppling over ... show more

Picture directions are always a pain but these were particularly bad. TINY print on pictures, you couldn't tell what went where. had to get out a magnifying glass and i'm not old!!!! I ended up putting the sides together wrong (watch out for that! make sure you have open holes where all 4 screws go. You'll try to put a screw in and hit metal (the other bar) if it's not put together right). Once I finally got it put together it is a nice unit and very sturdy. ... show more

Super cute and modern! I was really hesitant about buying furniture on Amazon but it really paid off. The box was a little heavy to carry in. It was easy to assemble, just double check the orientation of bars and wood before tightening screws. There were a several small scratches on the wood and the metal but I figured that would happen. I used the top piece as a shelf too, but I would recommend putting most of the weight on the bottom. Overall, I still love it and am planning on buying another. ... show more

I Love this bookcase cause it is open and I have plenty of room for my clear Containers to see what I have in them. I have bought 4. One I use in my closet to store my clothes I don't wear right away like sweat shirts in the summer and small short sleeve shirts in the winter. It fits great in my small closet.
