We had old drains that the "pull thing" no longer worked. Didn't want to have to use a plumber's wrench to finagle it (my arms aren't long enough to reach up from under the cabinet), so decided to try this. Props to the reviewer who said use floss to pull the old drain strainer out. Worked like a charm. We've discovered since that it's good you can just pull these out because periodically, you have to pull them up to get hair or tooth paste gunk out of the strainer. Hot water gets rid of the toothpaste gunk, and you can easily remove the strainer to get the hair out (again, the floss picks work on that ;-p).

This item works better than its description. So easy to install and use...catches debris that might get into the pipe under the sink and cause a stoppage.. When needed simply lift the unit out of the drain, clear the filter and drop it back in. Couldn't be easier.

This product is great for a quick fix, and I can finally use a stopper for my sink. Just push in the middle of the product and instantly the water is secured in tbe sink. However, while the water is running extra hard or harder than the norm, it takes a minute to drain, but I really like the new look it gives the sink. It also has a secured drainage for when something falls down the drain, the middle can be pulled out for this to happen and still there's a tube that can catch anything that falls down the drain. The price is right for something that os so easy to apply. So I gave this product a 4 star only because of the water drains slower than the norm.
