This electrical box cover is for a standard double-gang box where only one side of the box has a switch or plug. This was my requirement in a situation where I needed a lot of extra space for branch wires and wire nuts. The cover comes with the appropriate white screws.

    • Great to have choices
It is great to be able to find these odd combos. I actually ordered this just to have it around since some of these combinations can be near impossible to find. Heck, even if a place has them, you sometimes can't bring up the right one on search or find it in the aisle. It is exactly* what it looks like. It's the type that is semi-flexible so it won't crack easily, but still looks good. You'd be a madman to use anything but white in your home, because then try to find every odd combo imaginable... This white is the white that matches all. It's not UL listed. I mean, I can sort of let that go if it's clear it's made out of the same plastic that all other wall plates are made out of, but on the other hand, I'm no plastic expert, either. If I could find this made by a brand with UL certs, I'd buy that one. But I'm not sure you could find it by a listed brand. ... show more

This is a good wall plate, it does the job. It seems to be a sturdy plastic that isn't too brittle. As with many wall plates the white paint on the face screws comes off quite easily. Put some masking tape on the end of your screwdriver to help eliminate paint chips.

    • If you need this particular type of cover, this one is a great choice
There's not a ton to say about an electrical wall plate. First and foremost, you need the right one to match your needs. So if you have a two-gang box with one Decora/paddle switch and you want to conceal the second switch spot, this is the right set up for you. It's a pretty niche application, but you will know it when you want it. For me, I had decided to replace the light switch inside my garage with a dumb occupancy sensor switch. The original switch was on a three-way circuit with the other switch location right inside the house next to the door to the garage. I wanted the light to solely be controlled by the occupancy sensor and I didn't want someone accidentally killing the circuit by turning off the switch in the house. So this wall plate let me wire the circuit off in the house by removing the switch altogether, and then conceal all of that with a blanked out space. There are inserts you can buy that would fill in the empty switch space, but this looks a lot cleaner for very little money. Overall, the quality seems high. It is a pretty shiny white, so just beware in case all the rest of your wall plates are matte. Mine are not. It comes with 2 short and 2 long white painted screws for fastening the plate to the junction box. Do note that it's a pretty rigid plastic, so I suspect you will want to take care when screwing it in, as too much tightening might crack the plate. But overall, it's great. It looks nice, seems well made and served my niche need. What more could you ask for? ... show more

    • Great choice to block off one space of a two gang box!
I had been using a weird, two piece cover where one half was blank and one had a modern switch type opening. This is SO much better. I'm glad to have it. It is more sturdy, fits more positively into the switch/blank spot area it is intended for and because the screw holes line up with where standard boxes have screw positions, it fit nice and slick in the area I was intending. Since it's one piece it offers a unified presentation for an area where one switch is still needed but another switch or receptacle is not. Great offering! Cheers! ... show more
