Used it to cut an extremely heavy, strong chain that I lost the padlock key to. Was honestly worried it wouldn't be able to do it because it is kinda small and this chain was not weak or thin like all the chains I saw people using these on (I guess the big ones are stronger, but I didn't know anything about anything when I bought this.. and even the big ones people were using to cut weak looking chains), and I am not a big muscular man either.. I had to cut the chain three times to make a big enough opening to get it free and use almost all my strength using one of my knees not just my arms, but it worked! The important thing! And it is affordable. As this one time is probably the only time I will ever use it, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I will never use. It is a wonderful tool, so well made and I love that it's so strong without being huge. Shipping was fast too! And I love the pretty royal blue color, it is even nice to look at.

I used these just a few times to cut some clothes hangers and metal tomato cages. The blade broke after using just a few times. It wasn’t even thick metal that I was cutting. I contacted the seller and never got a response. I would not suggest buy these and maybe spending a few dollars to get some thing that is not so cheap.

Yesterday I got around to testing these cutters. They are heavy and seem well built. There was no flex to the handles and it easily cut the small bolt I tested it with. After the cut I looked at the cutting jaws and they showed little signs of being used. I did this as I had others of this size that the jaws edge became deformed after cutting, leaving a small void where the jaw cut. No signs of this with these. My only complaint would be they are a bit stiff to open. That said, I suspect they will loosen with use, so not a big deal. For the money, these are a great buy.

It works OK but it the handles are very stiff to operate. You have to overcome the resistance of the handles to cut the lock. Not good for anything but the very smallest guage of hardened steel.

These are nice bolt cutters for the price. I tested them on metal wire fencing and on screw heads with no problem. Pros: • Good solid feel • Blade head closes completely for clean cut • At 14" they are small enough to fit in my toolbox, but still long enough to get good leverage If there is a negative it is that they are a bit difficult to open/close; I don't really see it as a bad thing, and I imagine they'll be easier to open/close over time.
