Why I ordered this item: I had the opportunity to try these shorts as part of the Vine review program, and since my son lives for all things Baseball Lifestyle and has been wanting a pair for a while, I knew these would be perfect. He's been eyeing these donut shorts in particular and I was curious to see if they lived up to the hype. My first impressions: Right out of the package, I was genuinely surprised by the quality. These aren't your typical mesh shorts - the fabric is noticeably thicker and heavier than what you'd find with most other brands. The stitching is solid throughout, and they have a double-lined construction that makes them feel substantial. The pink donut print is exactly as shown - bright, playful, and eye-catching. My son's reaction was immediate excitement, and he thought they were hilarious. These shorts have a 5-inch inseam, which is on the shorter side and seems to be the trendy fit for kids right now. They come with side pockets that are actually functional (not just decorative), an elastic waistband with an internal drawstring for adjustment, and are made of 100% polyester mesh. They're machine washable, which is essential for kids clothes. The small size fit my son perfectly - he's as expected for his age and build. My overall assessment and recommendation: I'm really impressed with these shorts, and more importantly, my son is very happy with them. The quality is exceptional - you can tell these are built to last through multiple seasons of wear and washing. The fit is great as expected, and he's been wearing them constantly since they arrived, even though it’s winter time. The shorter length hasn't been an issue for him at all, and he loves that his friends have similar styles and prints. If you're looking for high-quality youth athletic shorts that your baseball-loving kid will actually be excited to wear, these are an excellent choice. They're a bit more expensive than basic athletic shorts, but the quality and durability justify the price. I'd definitely recommend them, especially if your child is already a fan of the Baseball Lifestyle brand.

Once you start buying these shorts, you’ll see why they’re so popular, despite the price tag that makes you want to cry. These are by far the coolest shorts we’ve gotten from BL101. The print is so bright, and the colors pop. I could probably spot my son from space. The crayon and pencil shorts are cute, but THESE are fun. The theme of the donut shorts (and shirt!) is “Donuts For Dingers”, and since my 13u kid is bouncing balls off the fence, he’ll be getting that first dinger soon. I’ll proudly buy him a dozen donuts for that feat. While I don’t typically like polyester, these shorts are nice and thick, but soft. They’re double lined, but not so thick that they’re too hot to wear in mid-summer. They also have pockets, and they are big enough to hold at least 2 baseballs per pocket. The pocket is sandwiched between the 2 layers of short fabric, so if you flip the shorts inside out, you get a sold color shorts to wear too. I like the drawstring waist and that the sizes are flexible.

Like all Baseball Lifestyle stuff, the kids love it but the donuts may be my sons current favorite. He said it was a hit at school which is always a win. He is 9 and a little on the small side and the Medium size fits him well. These are slightly longer than the pencil shorts he got but still not what I would consider long (mid thigh) As usual with this brand, the quality feels great and like it will easily outlast the sizing. Highly recommended!

These Baseball Lifestyle 101 mesh shorts are so perfect for a teen boy and so trendy. Apparently they are the it short for boys who play baseball, so I’m told. The coloring is incredibly vibrant and bright and the donut design is detailed and a really fun print! These do seem to run a bit big, a youth XL fits my 13 year son. The waistband is thick and solid, with a white drawstring to adjust the sizing as needed. Stitching and the craftmanship of the make is excellent and these are very well made. The shorts are mesh with additional mesh lining so the quality of these is top notch. Overall these are a great find and for the price they will last and be a great short long term.
