The Gun dam Ground type featured in “The 08th MS Team” is now available in the latest HG format! This kit’s armor parts features new designs, recreating the Gun dam Ground Type’s iconic asymmetrical chest Unit. Upgrading in the knee articulation and pull out gimmick in the shoulder makes it possible to recreate the firing pose seen in the opening credits with amazing accuracy! This upgrade in articulation allows the Gun dam to kneel and assume other iconic poses. In addition to this, an abundance of armaments are included featuring a newly designed 180 mm (approx. 7”) Cannon and other various weapons including the beam rifle not found in the original HGUC release. Set includes 180mm Cannon x1, Beam Rifle, 100 mm machine gun x1, Beam Saber x2, Weapon container rack x2, and shield x1. Runner x9. Foil sticker sheet x1. Marking sticker sheet x1. Good. Looks nice on shelf. Big gun is a plus. No major complaints other than the central of balance being finicky due to the backpack, but you can just take it off for more dynamic posing.

The rx-79G gundam ground type is probably one of my favorite gundam designs of all time. And the 1/144 scale hg kit definitely shows its awesomeness. I would like to point out is there are parts that are reused from the hguc gm ground type, which is another awesome kit I highly reccomend you also get. The articulation on this gundam is fantastic. Accessories this kit comes with are a machine gun, a beam rifle, a shield, 2 beam sabers (which both can be stored in the legs), 4 different, a 180mm cannon, and the cannon storage backpack. The only downsides on this kit is that all the cannon parts in the backpack brings so much weight, it can make the kit lean back and eventually fall, it's better to take the cannon parts out so you won't have this weight balance issue. The HGUC RX-79 Ground Type is a very good model kit and I just had a few difficulties with it. the design of the kit is great and I love the weapons and the backpack. However the trigger finger hand is a different color than the other hands. Also the left leg and the hip came off easily when I posed it. The pros of the kit are great though like the colors and there isn't a lot of stickers you have to put on. Also the kit look great without panel lining and there isn't a need to panel line it. This is one of my first kits and I was very easy to build I rate this kit 5 stars because the design, the articulation, and the accessories. ... show more

    • Great accessories, flawed design
Terrific-looking kit that comes with lots of weapons. The shield, cannon and backpack are particularly cool. Great color separation. The only parts needing paint for anime accuracy are the flak launcher and crotch V. Biggest flaw is the torso design. The pelvis attaches to the front of the chest with a ball-joint and the waist piece just floats loose in between. When I was building it I had to look around online because I couldn't believe that I had it connected correctly. I've never seen a Gundam kit before where a part was supposed to be loose and the ball joint easily comes out of its socket with normal posing. When that happens, you have to take the whole chest apart just to get it back in. I recommend just supergluing that part into place permanently. You don't lose that much articulation. Only other minor quibble is that the hatches hiding the saber handles don't have a hinge, they just sort of pop off. Not a big deal. Overall it's a great-looking kit and would be worth it for the weapons alone. The frustration of the build with that ball joint makes it unsuitable for beginners but with the waist glued it's a solid B+. ... show more

The 08th MS team and the RX -79G are probably my favorite mobile suit and Gundam animated series. This kit has alot of potential for some awesome poses. My only gripe, that others have mentioned is the torso area. It's set in this weird ball and joint configuration that can come undone. Could have used a few more decals. I put some waterslides on mine to give it more detail. Other than that I really have no complaints, this was a blast to build ... show more
