It took me a while to "find" the "block" needed to be lifted to hold the incense. I was about to give up and return it as a defective product, but finally found with a knife I could push on a place to raise the "block." Now it's in place and I'm using it and I'm pleased with the product and the price.

I wasn't expecting much for the price, but these holders are thick and sturdy. The part that adjusts the angle isn't loose and flimsy, it holds the incense stick firmly in place (once you insert the stick into the holder, you need to push down on the adjustable part to stop the stick from moving around.) I wouldn't use these holders with large incense sticks, though.
