I would say that the only downside is that there is no zipper, but BAGGU released the same tote bag with a zipper that I will probably pick up soon! I've washed my bag and it did not bleed. My wife bought this for a trip to the UK and it was great size for a personal item when fully stuffed. Also worked well as a tote for around town and shopping. We recommend if you need a bigger tote that you don't want to break the bank.

To me it seems to be more of the vertical style than the horizontal (which I preferred). Strap is super adjustable, inside compartment is spacious w a tiny zipper pouch where I keep important items.
