I actually bought this for my 2 large dogs! I left off the playhouse structure and used the pieces to complete the enclosure at the top. My dogs love it and use it as a lookout tower with the lower level shaded and off the ground. For normal families, this would be a great play structure as intended. It does take all day to build.     • Be prepared
I expected chinese instructions, crappy push nut hardware, splinter thin wood and poorly fitting joints, but was amazed at the quality of the instructions, materials and construction. Plan a good 6-8 hours for construction time for 2 people. I would recommend laying out the pieces before starting construction and familiarize yourself with them. Out of about a bijillion pieces, when it was all said and done, we had one 4"x15" piece of wood left over, and knew exactly why once we identified it. It was our fault, and fortunately our error was easily fixed. I would recommend this kit without reservation, but folks with little puzzle/construction experience or patience should enlist a handyman type to help with the construction. ... show more

    • Decent. Satisfied with it for the price.
3 YO and 1 YO enjoy it. Took me 10 hours by myself. A helper would be nice to gather all the pieces for each step. Lots of bolts, washers, screws, etc. and pieces are in different boxes. Keep that packing list handy. Sometimes the same piece was split into different boxes. Pay attention to the pre drilled hole orientation during each step. Luckily I messed one up but it was easily screwed into and not a bolt. Like many we put the slide on it. There’s holes there already for the stairs so we bolted on another piece of wood on the front and screwed the slide to that more substantial area. I recommend weather treating right away. 3 days in the Texas heat and rain made the wood look beat up. So we put some clear oil based weather seal on it. Looks fine and seems to be holding up now with the recent rain and sun. Wood doesn’t look to be drying out, splitting, flaking, etc. It’s perfect for our kids now and the size of our yard. Our yard isn’t exactly level so built it on the patio and then moved the bottom section then the house section so it would at least start out square. We’ll see how it holds up. Have a birthday party next weekend with plenty of kids. May need to add a couple extra floor supports but I’ll see if those show signs of cracking. ... show more

Assembling this playhouse requires some organization, but is definitely feasible for two adults, one drill, and a little patience. Be prepared to make some basic modifications to meet your specific needs. For example, the windows, particularly the back window, present a probable fall hazard. It's heavy, so build it where you plan to keep it. We built ours for inside play, removed the front ladder and secured the opening with a 15" x 15" mesh cargo net: PowerTye 50153 Blue 15"X15" Cargo Net featuring 6 Adjustable Hooks & Tight 2"x2" Mesh. We have a small home with vaulted ceilings in the living room, so we purchased this playhouse to maximize space for our little one. We added a bookshelf and floor pillows underneath to make a cozy reading den. We also added some toy storage under the stairs. Purchased for my sons second birthday, we expect to get around three years of play out of it. Then we'll probably reassemble it outside and convert it to a chicken coop. A few notes: The playhouse parts arrived in two large, heavy boxes; approximately 200lbs each. We had the boxes laid on the floor of the garage, then sorted all of the boards and pieces in the order of the assembly steps. This made it easy to collect the pieces for a few steps at a time and bring them into the house. The dining table became hardware central. This made fast work of a potentially complicated process. Most of the boards were clearly labeled, with one or two that we had to identify by comparison to other boards. Surprisingly, the two toy storage boxes were the most inconvenient to assemble, and too small to be very useful. Overall, we were impressed with the quality of the wood and hardware, and our house had a fresh cedar smell for a couple weeks after building it. ... show more

    • Ugh no good at all
So wood is very soft, but not in a good way. It cracks VERY easily, crappy quality, the size (its SMALL way smaller than the pictures make it look. It's a good size for toddlers to maybe age 5 but beyond that...forget it. The windows are not safe, they created an elevated playset that sits 5ft up and don't have any safety features to prevent a child from falling out of the windows. It looks nice set up but again....very cheap product that won't last long at all. I'm so disappointed in this and should return it but don't want to have to take it all apart to do that...but I will if I have too. 😪 ... show more
