We purchased this crib thinking we could fold it up easily when not in use for our infant grandson. We think it's inconvenient and DANGEROUS! What a MISTAKE. Then when we realized we couldn't easily fold it up, we thought we'd wheel it into our cottage when not in use-- it doesn't fit through the door! To provide more detail, the reason it does not fold is because the bottom is screwed in using 4 bolts. The four bolts bolt into a metal sleeve: SO BE CAREFUL when taking it apart, as baby could actually choke on the bolt sleeve if it falls on the ground when you take the crib apart. Additionally, when folded, there is no place to put the mattress, so the entire unit still takes up a lot of room. Three more hurdles: 1) The crib is HEAVY because it's not made of real wood, (the UPS guy had to drag it up my steps using a hand truck) 2) Despite good packing, ours arrived with the top rail banged up. I am not returning it because it's too much of a hassle, but once the baby is old enough to stand up, because it's all splintered, we will need to find something else to use. I think I will just buy a permanent crib at this point-- this thing is USELESS. 3) There is no latch to make it secure when you fold it: KEEP IT away from children, pets and baby as it will fall on them

This crib is great. I researched multiple folding full-size cribs, read reviews that described some as shaky and others with problem assembly and broken pieces. After my weeks of research, I decided on this crib by Babyletto Maki. This crib is wonderfully made, strong, sturdy, easy to assemble and has worked out great for our grandson. My husband and I watch him 2 - 3 times a week and have even had him on overnight stays for a week at a time so I was very concerned about having a safe, reliable crib that I could put away when not in use. This was the answer to my needs! Not at all disappointed. Now, I know it seems to be a little more expensive than some of the products out there on the market, but when it comes to the safety of a child it was not trade off for me.

The "portable" crib arrived this afternoon. I purchased this for a grand baby visit coming up. The first thing I was impressed with was how well packaged the crib was. There was a lot of styrofoam padding all around and in between the pieces. As I was taking the pieces out of the box I was also immediately impressed with the overall appearance of quality. I am a late-60's grandmother and I got to work assembling the bed. All the required pieces were provided, along with two extra wheels and 2 small locking washers. The only thing you need is a phillips-head screwdriver. I admit it took me several minutes to read through the assembly directions; there are a few printed words in English and French and a lot of pictures. Once I understood the picture logic it was easy to put the crib together; it took me about an hour. Putting the crib together I again was impressed with the quality of the product; all the holes lined up and all were neatly drilled. The paint was nicely applied. The crib is VERY sturdy. In fact once you insert the mattress platform and screw it down to secure it, this crib will not fold. Honestly this crib could be used as an everyday crib. It will fold easily, once the mattress platform is unbolted. That is one small downside I did not anticipate as when you want to collapse it, you will have to be sure to keep the platform bolts. If you were unconcerned about the extra stability the bolts provide, you could just position the platform in the crib without the bolts. But the small downside I mentioned is more than overcome with the solid stability of the crib. This crib is well worth the extra money over some other "portable" cribs when you read their reviews on workmanship and quality.

This is the best crib I’ve ever seen!!! Why was this not available for me when I was raising kids??? I bought this for my grandson and I live in an apartment so space was an issue considering he doesn’t use it that often. It takes the smallest amount of space folded against the wall and I hardly know it’s there! It’s heavy duty as well. *The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because there are a couple of small dents on the top from shipping, and I was desperate for it when I received it as they were coming in a couple of days. **It says needs 2 people for assembly, I did it by myself quite easily. Very solid and secure, and I am happy that it came with the conversion kit. Nice gray finish and nice clean lines. My space is limited, but It does not look cumbersome in an adult bedroom I tucked it into. It took two people to set it up, but it went smoothly. It is used weekly by my grandchildren. When they are all done with it, it can be fold up and stored in the back of a double closet. Very happy grandmother!

I’m happy with this crib. It’s very heavy, so not easy to take up and down stairs. I like that it is foldable and very sturdy. It was wider than I expected when folded, and you have to remove the base of the crib to fold it. It needs to be lifted up and placed on a holder on the side. It’s heavy, so it takes more effort to fold it than I expected.

Great crib. Sturdy and we'll made. I bought it for the grand babies when they come visit. You have to assemble it but it is not hard, just takes a bit of time. It was very well packaged and that takes some time to undo. It folds up easily and it rolls nicely. The castors all have locks on them. Once it is folded there isn't a mechinism to keep it folded, we just used a little strap to hold it together. I'm very glad I bought it and am very pleased.

This folding/portable crib is perfect! It is extremely well made, the finishes and hardware are excellent quality. Our two year old grandson loves it and it will be great when he will soon transition to a toddler bed as the crib came with the conversion side rail too. We couldn't be more pleased and satisfied.
