My 9-year-old loves these diamond art kits! The canvases have cute designs like cats and dogs that he enjoys filling in. It’s easy enough for him to follow the symbols on his own. Diamond painting has helped him with patience and concentration. He is proud to display his finished pieces!

This is a GREAT kit for both beginners as well as for someone who has done more of these than they can count (me LOL) As well as for all ages (with good eyesight). I love that each kit comes with separately packaged gems, as well as two wax squares, a "pen", as well as a tray, which makes this great for a kids sleepover, or bday party activity, so each kid can have their own set up MUCH easier than if all the gems came together, and if it only came with one tray and gem placing "pen"! Not that they would complete it that fast, but each "kit" comes with some little baggies as well, for storing the gems once you have opened the bag. Or you can use two old weekly pill cases to store them separately if you don't have something meant for easily storing gems, which I do have, since I have had projects with nearly 50 colors. The first one I did, the dog in my pictures from my review, had 12 colors. I'm guessing that's going to be the same for all of them... I did it in two sittings of about two hours or less each. For a beginner, and especially a child (my daughter is ten), one of these could easily take ten hours to complete. It would take my daughter probably six hours since she is moderately experienced. NOTE: On the back of the box, under "Set Includes:", it says 1. Tool kit: diamond pen, wax block, tray 2. wooden frame, Acrylic Rhinestones 3. Canvas with a picture-scheme Job Instruction THERE IS NO WOODEN FRAME of any kind included with this kit! Obviously the translation is also a bit wonky, since it comes with a total of four trays, 8 wax blocks, as well as about 20 little baggies and FOUR Canvas with a picture... Overall, if you enjoy arts and crafts, or know ANYone that does, I recommend this Gem Kit!! This is perfect for anyone that would love these Cute && Colorful Dogs and Cats, and that thinks it would be fun to hand make/gem these, for a truly unique set of gem paintings!
