I wanted to wait a while before I posted a review. It is about 6 months into the purchase of the shoes. I only wear them on the weekends. The soles have lost all their tread. Apparently I have kicked into something and both toes have gashes where the top coat is gone (other shoes have not done this). However, I am giving 4 stars since the shoes are comfortable and the wide size is a plus. For the price, it probably worth overlooking the quality of the materials and the wear out. ... show more

Once you get them on these shoes fit just great and were very comfortable. However getting them on is a real problem. The way they are made the tongue of the shoe is way too short and the opening width is too narrow. You end up struggling quite a lot just to get them on which is a critical problem for an elderly person like myself. It is quite taxing and painful just to get the shoes on. I have never in my life encountered a shoe that had a tongue that short. At the same time I purchased a pair of New Balance shoes which fit perfectly but unlike these shoes the tongue is a decent length and the width of the opening sufficient, so when you put them on it makes it very easy. All I can figure is they made the tongue so short to save money on materials or perhaps they did not adjust for the shoe size as I wear a size 15 shoe. The tongue length might be OK for a size 9 or 10 but is definitely too short so you can't get your foot into the shoe without stuffing the tongue into it. Quite a struggle trying to get your foot in and have the tongue still out enough you can pull it a bit more to complete your fit. If you have larger feet and have trouble putting shoes on due to physical condition I would advise passing on these and perhaps go for the New Balance. I've worn these for years, but this time I got lucky and they had the right size in the "wide" version in stock. What thus means for me is that I won't have to endure any discomfort while standard width sneakers spread out with wear. These are comfortable right from the start. Also, the correct size was delivered and the correct size is as marked. I have previously purchased Avias that were marked with the correct size, but were actually a smaller size and, unfortunately, I didn't find this out until I took them out of the closet to start wearing them. six months later. I really needed some new walking shoes, as I've been putting off buying some for a while now, but I wanted to take up walking again for exercise. I took a chance on these based on the reviews and I have to say they have really been a nice surprise! I paid more than double what these cost for a pair of Sketchers that started to fall apart literally the same day that I bought them and that wreaked havoc on my feet over the past year, but these on the other hand were affordable, and so far are just supportive enough for the amount of walking that I'm doing. I walk in them for about half an hour to an hour in the evenings, but I am not sure that I would recommend them for anything more intense than that, like running, but they're a really good casual sport shoe. They are a good fit for my feet, which tend to be a little too wide for a lot of shoes, and they have been a huge help for my shin pain. My only real complaints are that they don't breath very well, and I wish they had a little more arch support, as I have pretty flat feet, so I may need to swap out the insole, but even if I don't they still offer better support than my last shoes. I can't say for sure if these shoes would be the best fit for long days of being on your feet for a job, but they do have a nice, light, bouncy quality to them. So yes, I agree with the bulk of the other reviews, these are a great affordable option for an athletic shoe for light to moderate exercise, and feel high quality for the price point. ... show more
