I have been using the knock-off labels for some time. They worked pretty well until they started sending the ones with the yellow back. Constant paper jams-I thought my printer needed replacing. I ordered the Avery labels and voila! They have an edge technology that makes it east for the rollers to grab them up and I've not had a single jam with them. I also bought the Canon toner, thinking the bargain toner was causing the problem, but continued to get jams. If these Avery labels allow me to use the generic toner, they will save way more than the extra cost of them ... show more

    • Not exactly "smudge-proof"

I bought these to make labels for my husband's cider bottles. I specifically chose the ones for laser printers. The labels smudged a bit while printing, but I thought it was my printer having trouble with dense ink. But when we were putting the labels onto the bottles, I noticed that our hands were turning black, and realized that as we pressed the labels onto the bottles, the ink was smudging onto our hands. Later, when a couple of bottles got wet, the ink wiped almost entirely off. I bought inexpensive labels because this was the first year my husband was making cider and we weren't sure how it would turn out. I definitely will look for better labels for next year. (However, we put some kid-friendly cider into plastic jugs and labeled them as well, then froze them. The labels stuck perfectly fine in the freezer and after defrosting.) ... show more

    • Got a bad batch

It claims that it's for laserjet printers but every time I try to print stuff on it everything just wipes off like powder. It works fine with the Office Depot brand labels but as soon as I run a sheet of this stuff through my printer all I get are smudges and loose powder. I've tried different settings on my printer but nothing fixed it. The paper feels damp to the touch so maybe that may be the problem. I'm leaving a few sheets out to dry then trying it again tomorrow before I drive to go pick up some good labels. *Update* I contacted Avery and let them know about it thinking that maybe it was something that I was doing wrong with the printing. They told me that the labels should not feel damp to the touch and offered to send me replacements. Since it was only $6 I wasn't worried about replacements but it was nice to know that they do have good customer service. ... show more

We use these all the time at the office and the bulk box is the best bang for your buck. As we go through so many every month, bulk purchasing just made sense. It saves us a good amount of money and time in the long run. Very happy to have found this option on Amazon. I've tried looking at other stores like Costco and Staples but they don't offer the labels in bulk. I used to double check the count to make sure we got the full amount but no longer do so as every time, it was correct. Highly recommend buying from Amazon direct. ... show more

I like using Avery products because their website makes it easy to set up. You don't have to figure out the spacing or anything, just enter in the product number and it has the template ready for you. I found it was worth it to make an account so they save my projects for me. My printer is ok, but honestly it's eaten a ton of paper and gotten jams, so I was worried about this thicker sticker paper.     • Easy to use labels

This product is great for those wanting to create their own customized labels. I primarily use them for labeling bottles for water sampling at my work. They come out perfect with our laser printers. I especially enjoy using excel to create a database for my labels and using word to bring that database into the mailing function which sets up the labels for me in the Avery product of my choice. The 2 x 4 inch size is more than big enough to include a lot of information on the label. The things I don't like are the cost, however, on amazon they are much cheaper than the box stores. The labels if they get wet fall apart so we usually have to cover them with strips of tape to keep them as water proof as possible. I would like to try the Avery waterproof labels of this size just to see if they would be better. ***UPDATE*** I have a son that is 2 years old and absolutely loves trains and stickers so what I did was use my iPad and the Avery iPad app to create custom stickers for my son using pictures of trains that I found online. He loves these stickers and they are of his favorite thing, which if changes, I can make new ones easily with these labels. I also am thinking of making stickers with the word of the item printed as well so he can increase his vocabulary and object recognition with having fun and getting stickers. I use these for roster stickers on hockey score sheets. They used to be difficult to use with my laser printer. They would not feed through or print misaligned fairly regularly. Now with the new "sure feed technology" they won't go through at all, ever, not even once. If your printer picks up with the back of the label facing up in the print tray, buy something else. Their "sure feed technology" is on the printing side of the labels. ... show more

And eBay's seller sent generic Avery French labels which don't line up with Avery American template on laser printer no matter how I adjusted each.
