I purchased these Avery 5434 labels to make my personal "crafted by..." labels. I wanted something quite small and printer-friendly. I searched on Avery's website and picked this one out thinking it would be perfect or close to it. The quality is the same as other Avery labels, if you're familiar to it. I tried to use Word to format/edit the labels but customization only goes to a certain point and no luck with the 5434. So I went to Avery's site and used their templates, which actually has quite a bit of options. I chose a blank template and went from there. The customization process went well. What took me so long was getting it printed out perfectly. Avery converts the labels to a PDF format and you have to figure out the printing yourself. I tried many settings/margins on my printer and after 8-10 times, I was SO close to giving up. But I didn't. I'd like to share the settings I used in case some of you experience the same problem I had. Note that you will have to add a new paper size to your printer settings. Actual paper size of 5434 is 4.05 x 6.1. 4x6 preset on the printer doesn't work, even borderless setting. Here it is -- Paper Size: 4.05 in (width), 6.4 in (height). Non-Printable Area: Left: .5 in, Top .7 in, Right: .5 in, Bottom: .2 in. Also, choose rear tray or manual feed for your paper source. I suggest you save this setting on your printer (I named mine Avery 5434) so all is set next time you need to print again. Hope this helps, if needed. ... show more

I used these to make new labels for my breaker panel. They're the perfect size and the Avery software (via their website) is surprisingly good. It's easy to use and you can even save your templates on the site.

    • These Stickers Really Are Removable!
We put up a lot of canned jars of fruit each year. We've tried various stickers, and we want two things: they must stick and not fall off over the months and even years -- but when the fruit is gone, we want to recycle the Mason jars without having to work at peeling each label for a loooooong time. That gets old fast! We thought we'd try these. They work great! They're big enough to stick on a lid or the jar itself, with a note as to contents. AND, of prime importance, when the good stuff is gone, it's easy to pry up a corner with a fingernail, and just peel the label off. No sticky residue! Recommended! ... show more
