My Jeep 42re transmission was not wanting to shift outta 1st gear. This little spring fixed it right up. Shifts like a champ nowl When I got the old spring out...it was broken. Pretty simple fix actually.

Communication is only half the equation. Listening is the other part. I think it's why God gave us TWO ears and ONE mouth. LOL I was told that when you rebuild a transmission, it's always a good idea to replace the accumulator spring, so buy one whether you need it or not, and replace it. Hence, the purchase of this product. When I was assembling the valve body of my transmission, I found my accumulator full of broken spring-bits. Mind you, this isn't a basic little spring like you'd find in Great Grandma's hair curlers, this is a hefty, weighty spring that's meant to endure abuse, apparently. It was very surprising to see the shattered remnants of coils (holy cow, what abuses have I subjected my transmission to?!) wedged down in the valve of the accumulator. So, I'm not only happy, but grateful that forsight was practiced!

This spring i replaced was broken and caused my transmission not changing gear from 1st upward.With the new spring in place,which was easy to install,i now have all my gears as well as overdrive.

In the pictures I have the busted factory spring next to the new one, and the caliper readings from both (.126" expected, new is .118"), as well as what the spec sheet says it should be. This spring diameter is undersized. I have my doubts for the longevity of it.
