  • Frustratingly Incomplete Entertainment System
The media could not be loaded. Old Review: This is a great quality hardware. The software is a mediocre facsimile of Android TV. To top it all off, they have you a remote that doesn’t work with Android TV. It helps you navigate on the Home Screen. Once you enter in any app, you’re on your own. My Netflix is stuck in one profile. Oh, I can’t login to Prime Video because it doesn’t have an ampersand on the keyboard. The OS is simply too old to be around. I physically hate this device because it has so much going for it hardware wise. They distorted the entire device with the software. I’m sure 7,000 people like it enough to give it this much of a high rating, but I promise you, those 7,000 people had to find work around for the limitations I’ve listed or they are stuck using only one specific feature of the device. OMG! This device is so frustrating. I had to return it. Update: I decided to use this device with a Fire Stick and I am convinced that’s the best way to use it. Like I said above, the hardware is amazing but the software is terrible. Since I wrote my old review with lots of anger, I decided to revise it with a cooler head. Here are what’s great about the device. Brightness: It is very bright and you can use it either in the dark or in a room with lots of light. Focus: The device has an autofocus feature, which works great, but it also allows you to fine tune the focus. Trust me, that’s awesome! Keying: Like focusing, the keying feature is also incredible. It allows you to adjust the size of the viewport to your liking depending on how far away you place the device from the target display area. Performance: It works great. I have a Samsung Frame TV in my bathroom and I have this device in my bedroom. When I compare frame performance, it’s very close to my very expensive Frame TV. Picture Quality: Again, comparing to the Frame TV, the picture quality on 4K videos on YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Peacock, Paramount+, Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV (oh my! I need to cancel some of these), and the browser looks amazing. It’s not as good as the Frame TV, but you’ll only tell the difference when you go closer. At close range, the difference is emphasized, but I don’t watch TV on an 85” (diagonally) display that close. The picture quality is plenty enough to entertain my guests. I’m actually thinking about using another one on my entertainment dungeon in the basement. Connectivity: It connects to Bluetooth devices. So, naturally, I connected it to my ION Bluetooth speaker. That’s another great decision! Overall, this is a great projector to use with a streaming device like Fire Stick, Google Chromecast, and Roku TV. If you bought it because of the Android TV OS, you’d be incredibly disappointed; hence, my very angry review above. If you chose to use it with one of the devices I mentioned above, you’d enjoy it. If you bought it for gaming, even better. Bottom line, the hardware is amazing. You need to pair it with good software. ... show more

  • It's a good projector but the user interface is lacking a lot
I've been on the hunt for an affordable auto focusing/auto keystone projector for a minute. I've tried a lot to say the least and this one is the highest quality I have found thus far. Pros: It's super bright, the fan isn't very loud which is great, and the sound quality is pretty good. CONS: the user interface is horrible, the apps they have preloaded or available for download require a mouse control and they do not give you any mouse control with the remote, which is really frustrating. Also, I don't understand why they advertise airplay when it only does screen mirroring for IOS, so false advertising there. We are using a roku stick so it's not a deal breaker but I feel like half of these 'affordable' projectors lie about their features. Also, the bottom hole for a tripod mount is smaller than the standard screws so that's another thing I will have to purchase. Overall, I wouldn't buy this one again if I had the option and I might not be keeping it, the verdict is still out. ... show more

  • Not a big fan
I tried to use this for my brothers memorial service, to play a slideshow/movie we had made. It wouldn't register the USB drive we plugged into it, or a laptop used with an HDMI cord or a DVD player. We ended up having to all gather around the laptop. Very frustrated.

  • It is a good projector, but.
I have been getting so many projectors since I knew they existed. Epson, Mitsubishi, ViewSonic, but most of those were 800x 600 ,720p or 1024x768 or 1280x800. I pay a lot for those. I can see screen details my friends don't care. So I started to look for a cheap projector with native 1080p and I have bought so many and return very few. This one has good brightness at 120" good contrast. Cool zoom and keystone. You have a movie theater with out breaking the Bank. I really like the brightness it seems the same as my toumei v5 3800 lumens. Which is just bright enough. ... show more

  • Top-tier projector in this price range.
The balance of price, picture quality, and brightness on this projector is, in my opinion, outstanding. For a projector in this price range, the picture is excellent. Images appear extremely sharp, and the colors look consistently vibrant and crisp. The auto-focus and automatic lens cover are stand-out features to me as well. The default Android menu interface is not bad, however, I would highly recommend purchasing an OTT streaming device (such as an AppleTV) in addition, as that option would be far preferable. The Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities are a very nice touch that compliment the Android interface well, but they are, in my opinion, not entirely necessary if pairing this device with a third-party streaming solution (again, highly recommended). The audio speaker is surprisingly decent (for a projector), but external Bluetooth speakers or headphones (analog or Bluetooth), or HDMI audio, which is also supported here, would be the much better sound solutions as, again, this is primarily a video output device. Overall, I think that you would be very hard-pressed to find a projector with better picture, color and brightness, as well as bonus standalone and quality-of-life features for this asking price. It competes with the best out there and doesn’t break the bank, I couldn’t ask for more. Great buy! Model: 12000Lux ... show more
