I have several drones, mostly DJI. I Picked this Evo Lite+ up because there was a very good deal on them. The drone is much heavier and more sturdily made than either the Mavic 2 or the Air 2s. Because of that, it tends to fly much more heavily, it's not as quick and nimble as the Air 2s, but it does have a pretty firm feel when flying. You'll get more drift out of the Evo Lite+ than you will from any DJI drone. Remember to run through the complete calibration prior to first flight. I spent half a day trying to diag a yaw condition that turned out to be a simple calibration issue with the remote. a quick calibration and I was back in business. Lastly, remember that Autel views this as a consumer drone, because of that, they have not released an ADK or SDK for it, consequently, there is no 3rd party software for this drone to fly waypoints or run mapping operations. A true shame, because the cameral is top notch. Thats the bad, now for the good. This aircraft has one of the best drone cameras in its class. Instead of a RGGB, the camera is an RYYB, if you don't know the difference, I would encourage you to look it up and watch a video on it. Suffice it to say here, the CMOS sensor is much more reactive to light, which provides for unmatched video quality in its class. Until you step up to the likes of the DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine, you'll have a hard time matching its video quality. I've been shooting video testing different filters in different lighting conditions sine it arrived, and have yet to shoot a bad video. Pics are just as sharp and of very high quality at 50MP. don’t listen to the nay sayers who claim that because it has an 8 bit cam in stead of a 10 bit it is inferior. It is anything but! Put simply, it dramatically outperforms both the Air 2s and the Mavic 2. The other big benefit of this drone is flight time, it will easily loiter on site in excess of 35 minutes and has an easy total flight time in excess of 40 minutes. all in all, this is a good drone if you're not looking for automated flight operations. I’ll save you the lengthy review and give what you need to know: This drone is on par if not better than the DJI drone it competes with which is the DJI Air 2S. The gamer style controller feels familiar if you have played video games. It’s a very high quality controller and easy to program. YES you need to register this drone because it exceeds the 250 gram weight. Yes this has Remote ID built in, so it will be complaint with FAA rules and regulations. The camera says it is 6K, but really it is actually 5.4K quality which is still excellent! The app is easy to navigate, it’s both Android and Apple and there is a tutorial that will walk you through all of the features. This standard kit gives you just about everything you need to get started except for a storage bag and an SD card. This does have some built in storage, but you will need an SD card. Battery life is about 30 or minutes on average. The time it takes to connect to the controller and app is ALOT faster than my DJI. You will get connected and flying much faster than a DJI. The distance this can fly is up to around 7 miles with clear line of sight, but I have personally flown about 2 miles away over the ocean and had no transmission issues at all. Lastly, the price of this package from this seller is TERRIBLE. Look around for the same drone with better bundles for the same or cheaper price. I LOVE this drone and would recommend it, but not at the $999 and up price for just the standard package. ... show more

Super frustrating. The camera didn't function properly out of the box and the auto pilot of the drone went nuts and nearly crashed itself trying to avoid whatever this color blur. Too expensive to have amateur crap like this happen.

This is the second or third drone I have owned and it is by far the most complex of any I have operated. You get the drone, battery, remote, charger, cables, and replacement propellers. The standard kit does not include a hard case which is kind of a disappointment in a way since it's a 1500.00 drone, but whatever. There is a lot to learn about the operation and features of this drone and you can forget finding most of that information in the documentation. I would suggest looking up a tutorial on youtube to get some basic tips. From what I can tell this drone will not fly without a phone attached to the remote so before flying you have to download and app and you will likely immediately be notified that the unit will need a firmware update--which will most likely fail. Once you have the app up and running the drone will go through a self-check which may take a minute and then it will search for gps signal. Finally the screen will say "safe to fly" and you can take off. When you finally figure out how to get the thing airborne it flies very well. It's stable and has all types of features to prevent you from flying into things like houses or trees. If you switch it to "ludicrous" mode it basically lets you do whatever. I don't recommend doing that unless you got some mad flying skills. The drone is powerful and stable and it has some insane control and video range, but it could do with some better information about the drone itself and the operation. I have gotten very critical of products I review that do not contain user manuals and this one is one or two pages. I get several pages of safety information but maybe a page of user information. I also cannot figure out how to move the camera left to right--it obviously can do this because the gimbal does it during the self check but I don't see the feature in the controls. Overall this is a very good drone for an intermediate user. Do not hand this to a first time user unless you want to be out a bunch of money. ... show more
