Well, I teach elementary music and play bassoon. Since my kids were learning the woodwinds I knew Amazon sells CHEAP ones that aren’t that great and I figured I would spend a little so they could see and hear a flute in real life versus a screen or picture.     • Best flute in its price range.
I purchased, from Amazon, flutes from Glory, Mendini, Eastar and other brands. Some were ok (Glory) some had defects and I returned them. But this Aurosus flute is by far the best of all. It is perfectly set up, pads seal well, keys are perfectly adjusted, sign of good quality control. The sound is bright and loud, intonation is excellent. The embouchure cut on the lip plate is the best among all the Amazon flutes that I tried: easy to blow, easy to go to the higher octave. And as a bonus this flute, for the same price or even less than the other flutes that I mentioned, is silver plated and not just nickel plated! Last but not least, it is the only one in this price range that comes with a beautiful excellent quality hard case. Very highly recommended! ... show more

    • Solid. Closed Hole. Offset G. C Foot Joint. Ridiculously Inexpensive. Perfect For Exploring
How did this arrive? This arrived in a mostly plain, white, kind of cheap, tape sealed white cardboard package weighting in at about (2¼) pounds and measuring 16½” x 5” x 2¾”. It’s very generic looking. What’s inside? The flute, of course. However, the flute was within a two (2) latched hard-shell case (with handle), measuring 15½” x 4” x 2½”; and was within a plastic bag. A pair of white gloves and a cleaning cloth were included. I appreciate this, very thoughtful. Little things make a difference. Looks? Everything was in place and felt appropriate. It’s a beautiful silver flute. What triggers me to try Beyond the basic features, the decision to select, for me, is price and my preference for its sound. This has a ridiculously reasonable price, so I was willing to risk sound. Manufacturers exercise their own idea of mechanism design and how a flute should sound. For me, this flute offers a great price, balanced by appropriate design and the song of sound met my expectations. Good for beginner? I think this perfect for my school age toddler to start exploring. Features? I opine this flute’s key positioning aids beginners on hand placement. Having closed holes eliminates a newbie’s efforts in covering holes as keys are pressed (that’s for more advanced players). My preference is to have an “offset” G key (played by the left-hand ring finger). I want this set forward from the other keys, so it is easier to reach, allowing improved playing success and less stretching for positioning, this has such. C foot joint Advanced flutes have B joints. This has a C foot joint. It surrounds the flute’s ability to create low notes. Advanced flutes have a B foot joint, allowing low B’s,” Lewis says. Whereas the C foot joint is shorter by having one (1) less key, and only allows the beginner to play down to a low C. The shorter C version makes for a lighter flute, it’s all about making playing easier for beginning players, to keep their success higher and interest in playing stronger. Further, there really is no need for a low B, as lower notes are not frequently employed for beginners, it is more for intermediate and advanced levels. How does it sound? Taste, smell, and sound are highly opinionated. The elephant in the room of many flutists is all about that resonance. However, based on the totality, this flute plays in tune and does have a more substantial than tinny, sound. Someone else may say different, but for me, I am good with its sound quality. Certain beginner flutes resonate better than others but think several thousands of dollars in cost to get a better quality and more resonant sound out of a beginner’s flute. Sturdy and durable? I say this it. I don’t see it lasting for generations, but I see our oldest passing this down to younger siblings. Country of origin? Made in China Date of manufacture? This is an entry level school flute, it is metal with the typical case and mouthpiece. This is for a school kid learning the flute or woodwinds in general. No one is raving about this flute and i think they should be as it gets kids into music with an entry level price and a flute to get them through high school years. ... show more

    • Excellent beginner flute
This flute looks excellent and comes with all the necessary attachments from what I can tell. It is a good beginner flute because all of the necessary pieces on most youtube tutorials are consistent with what a flute is. (note, I don't play and I did get this to learn. I can't even produce consistent flute sounds yet but I'm learning) From a review perspective, I think this might be too basic for more experience flute players. But for someone who is trying to learn, this feels great to use and also feels good when held. ... show more
