The media could not be loaded. This smart blind controller is a game changer. This was one of the last things I had to do to fully enable my home as a smart home. It was easy to install. I actually connected this to my vertical blinds. I was afraid it wouldn't work after reading some reviews. I'm so glad I didn't listen. I had to trim my chain a little. It was just too long in my opinion. And the connector kept getting caught in the wheel. So I trimmed it where it wouldn't come close to the wheel while operating the blinds. The wheel that was already inserted worked for me. Once that was connected, I moved on to programming the remote to the start and stop settings. This was a bit challenging for me. My controllers were on the left. But I wanted it to open from the right. Up was down. Down was up. Open was close. Close was open. I worked it out. They now operate how I want them to. Then it was time to connect to the app. This gave me a little trouble. But it turns out, I had to use the doggle. It connected right away. I was able to link it to Alexa. It was on then. I added it to my nightly routine that prepared my home for bed. I'm so impressed with this device. It works with any chain controller. Be sure to scan the qr code for the instructions.

I'd been waiting to find something like this - to retrofit one (later maybe two or three) of our existing roller shades). This might seem expensive but it is less than half the price of replacing the entire roller shade with a motorized, remote control version. I like this design because it is not as "intrusive" as some others - this one merely works by manipulating (rolling) the chain. So like I said "Way Cool. Use with Alexa (or the included remote). "Alexa open the living room shades". Now the downsides. The instructions are awful (beautiful little manual - that says almost nothing - particularly of no help if you run into anything unusual (and there is a lot of room for that). As a mechanical and electrical engineer I still found the installation (and setup) VERY difficult and time consuming. They provide in-app support and videos (which are no better). Amazon support is useless but the company's product support is sort of helpful. Once I got it set up everything sort of is a snap. Other downside - just be careful of how this is installed (physically) because if you make a mistake - then it might be apt to malfunction - but if set up right, then you're OK. Alexa is great but you cannot say "open the shades halfway, close 50% etc" - I asked the company (and tried to look up) but so far this seems to be the case. Ugh. note once installed, you can no longer manually open and close. The remote control will allow you to open/close in any way you want. So this gets 6 stars for overall operation and convenience (once set up) - 2 stars for the manual, 3 stars for other annoyances - so I will average this out to be a 4 star product.

Setting up this smart shade driver was surprisingly simple. I was a bit skeptical about installing something like this, but from unboxing to having it operational took barely any time at all. The design to just loop the existing beaded chain is ingenious, and the adhesive held it firmly in place on the wall without any fuss. It’s wonderfully wire-free, which keeps the window area looking clean and uncluttered, a major plus for me and helps it blend seamlessly into the room. The quiet operation of this device truly stands out. You can barely hear it move the blinds, making it ideal for a bedroom or a nursery where you don't want any sudden noises disrupting the peace. The battery life has also been impressive; I've been using it for a while now and haven't had to recharge it often at all, which is great for maintaining that cordless aesthetic. These smart blind or curtain controllers work great. They do take a little bit of playing with when setting them up. Once you have it setup though it's flawless. I have over 100 smart devices in my house and I've had issues with a lot of them. I have 4 of these controllers and the only thing I've ever had an issue with was the battery needed re-charging or my cat knocked the dongle out. You can even adapt blinds that don't have the beaded cord to work by simply adding beaded cord and tying it on. I rely on these controllers for my everyday routine. I set it up to open at sunrise and close at dusk. They will even close when the temperature outside is over a certain temperature to keep the heat out of the house. Definitely recommend these to anyone who nerds out on automation and wants to make life simpler. Can be used on any type that has or can be adapted to beaded cord. This controller is strong, durable, and definitely priced good compared to the competitors. No hub needed either.
