I needed a license plate holder for the front of my new 2023 VW Tiguan to avoid drilling the bumper. The holder is very sturdy and easily installed after popping off the cover to the tow bar connection location. Keep in mind connecting the long rod is a left turning to tighten, not the normal right turning. The bracket easily turns to the preferred angle of the front curve of the bumper. Be aware of the sensor locations otherwise the parking assist alarm will constantly beep. I also added a silicone frame around the license plate, so I needed to use the longer screws provided with the kit. The short screws attaching the license plate to the bracket were just a bit too short. The longer screws worked fine, but I would have preferred them to be just bit shorter because they protrude out the back of the plate a little too far for my liking. The plate holder from the dealership did not work when I replaced the original license plate with a handicap plate because the entire license plate was not visible at the bottom and cut off the state of Florida but this one worked perfectly fits like a glove and the entire plate is visible Except for the four edges around it and I love this particular design because the silicone is not just covering the edges all around but it’s completely solid on the back with silicone that cannot scratch my new car in for a little bit of money everyone should have one of these on their vehicle I’m not handy at all but I was able to put my license plate in this cover and put it on my car in about five minutes . This is truly one of the very best items I have purchased on Amazon in a long time and I shop almost daily. Very nice item. Fits perfectly. Easy to install. My license plates fits flat against the rear hatch. There are no factory standoffs----the plate sits flat on the paint. My other vehicle is exactly the same. When I removed the plate to wash/wax behind it left an outline of the plate etched into the paint. This silicone frame will prevent that. The entire rear area and edges of the plate are covered in silicone and cannot rub into the paint. It should provide years of protection. Very affordable protection. ... show more

I bought this to prevent my license plate from scratching my car's paint. It does the job. It was easy to install and fit my license plate just fine. I haven't noticed any water pooling or any issues with it. I was worried if it would withstand the weather since the back of the car is exposed to the sun for almost 10 hours a day. One of the first things that I do when I buy a vehicle is remove all traces of the dealership that I bought it from. I paid them a lot of money...why should they get free advertisement as well..lol Unfortunately, when I remove the license plate frames from the dealership, just having the license plate there looks kinda plain.
