These are exactly what we needed for my son to start tackle football. I bought two pair and they are well made and have not shown any sign of coming apart after a few washings. We got these for my 9 year old son for Christmas to play around the house in as he loves football and is not old enough to play tackle football. They were a little larger than we were expecting based on the size chart but the reason for the 3 stars is the fabric over the lowest pad ripped the second time he wore them.
