I bought this filter for my 2003 Honda Civic automatic transmission. The transmission need to be disassembled to replace the filter. It is a common issue for the filter to clog with clutch material, so there is an updated filter design with more filter surface area. I purchased this filter to replace the filter in my used JDM SLXA transmission before I installed it in my car to prevent problems later on since the filters in these transmissions are known to get clogged over time are not replaceable once the transmission in installed in the vehicle. The old filter actually looked extremely clean, but I feel better knowing that I have a new filter in it. I was surprised to see that this filter is twice the size of the filter that came in the transmission, but upon further investigation the earlier transmissions (01 and 02 if I remember correctly) had a small filter, but Honda updated the design for the 03-05 transmissions because the original design was clogging up and causing failures. ... show more
