Top Amazon Reviews

  • Fantastic monitor! Great for gaming and all around use!
I just received my ASUS VP249QGR monitor yesterday and I am absolutely IN LOVE WITH IT! It came with zero dead pixels and everything looks amazing right out of the box (it also came with a DisplayPort cable which is great!). I have no idea why people have complained about the stand so much in their reviews because I think the stand isn't that bad at all. I have it sitting on a glass desk and it doesn't wobble or shake and it feels more sturdier then my old LG monitor/stand. You can always pick up a cheap $20-30 VESA mount on Amazon if you really want a new stand because this monitor does allow VESA mounting which is cool. Anyways, I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a great IPS monitor on a budget and also for gamers! I've been playing some Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Persona 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Code Vein, etc and they all look freaking amazing with this monitor. ALSO! This monitor tends to be out of stock a lot. I was able to snag one just by keeping the Amazon page up and refreshing every 15 minutes or so while I watched some movies and browsed the web. It seems to come in and out of stock a lot but isn't THAT hard to get if you want one. When I originally placed the order it said it wouldn't come in until July 11th (which was almost 1 month away!) but about 2 days after ordering it my shipment was moved up to 6/18 so I received it in 1 week. So even if the delivery date shows as being a month or so away, there's a good chance you'll get it MUCH MUCH sooner! ... show more

  • So far, so good!
EDIT from Feb 2024: Still using and loving this monitor! I've had this monitor for about a week, and I bought it to go along with my first gaming PC build, hence why I wanted a higher refresh rate. However, I also wanted it to be good for work and casual use, so I was searching for an (affordable) IPS panel, rather than TN or VA. And I am loving it so far! I have never had a monitor this big, and while I will say I'm not a monitor expert, I'm really impressed with it (especially for its price!) The picture is clear, bright, and has great colors. I've used it for gaming and the 144Hz is smooth and Adaptive Sync works seamlessly so far (I have an RTX 2060, so it is compatible). The only minor con is that the monitor shakes a bit, for example when typing on my keyboard or bumping the desk, due to the somewhat flimsy stand. But, if you plan to VESA mount it, you wouldn't have that issue. Also, be sure (unlike I did, initially) if you plan to use the DisplayPort that you manually switch the input, as it may default to VGA/HDMI and the image won't display. Overall, I'm satisfied with this monitor! And it has pretty good sound from the speakers too, in my opinion. ... show more

  • Excellent monitor - Using with 16" MBP @ 144hz via Display Port to USB-C Cable
I am using this monitor with my 16" MBP and am very, very impressed with it for the cost. The screen is incredibly clear, with bright, vibrant colors. The stand leaves room for improvement. Quite wobbly, and doesn't telescope. Again, it's good enough for the cost. When I am using Bootcamp for gaming, using a Display Port to USB-C cable allows for 144hz which makes gameplay much smoother, and really increases the overall experience. I can't believe I gamed for so long at 60hz. On MacOS the same cable allows for 144hz, though I do not notice any increase or decrease in performance during normal tasks. Normal tasks for me means a lot of Excel work, some photo editing in Photoshop, PowerBI work, and typical stuff- surfing the web, e-mails, etc. etc. My home desk is not very "deep", so the 24" monitor @ 1080p is very comfortable to look at. I found a 27" to be too large, finding myself having to turn my head left to right in order to see the edges of the screen. This thing is perfect. In a perfect world a USB port would be on the monitor, but alas, there isn't one. It'd be great to be able to plug in a USB hub or something since my Mac doesn't have any. It'd really help clean up some wires. ... show more

  • Not reliable speakers. so down to 4 stars.
It comes fixed on 60hz, all you have to do is go on your NVIDIA settings and go to the bottom resolution section, this will allow you to change it to 144hz. I like it a lot so far and it seem like it's worth every penny. If anything changed, I'll update my review. UPDATE: 04/29/2021 About 5 days ago the left speaker quit working. I tried to fix it but I couldn't. So I contacted the seller and they responded right away. The guy tried troubleshooting it on the phone and couldn't fix it, so he said that he was going to contact the factory and put us together on the phone on Monday at 5:00pm. They called me at 4:00 pm and I was in the shower. Tried contacting him again for two days and left voicemails, but he never got back with me!! I ended up having to buy external speakers because I didn't know how long the return process would take between sending them back this monitor, waiting for them to receive it, then having to wait for the new one. anyway, good monitor but not reliable speakers . ... show more

  • Pretty good monitor
This is the exact same monitor as the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q. The only difference is the monitor stands. If you want a very nice, heavy duty, fully adjustable monitor stand then I'd buy the VG249Q. If you don't care about stand quality or you plan to use this on monitor arms and want to save some cheddar this monitor is the way to go. I use this monitor for editing high resolution photos and gaming. I play games such as star citizen, monster hunter, elite dangerous, Final Fantasy 14 online, Cyber punk 2077, Elden Ring and all of them look pretty great on this monitor. These work pretty well for editing monitors but if you are gunning for unmatched top shelf quality for editing you'll want to just buy a dedicated editing monitor. It's not bad for editing. In fact it's really good. It just starts to fall short when you need work with deep deep blacks or are pixel peeping. It becomes difficult to tell one thing from another with darker colors. It seems the blacks are a little bit lighter than actual black but I guess you'd buy an OLED display if that's what was most important to you. I also wish they were a little bit brighter. The 144hz. and free sync both work great too. Honestly for what I paid for them before the pandemic these things were a steal. Now there right about what I'd expect them to be at. If you buy them they won't disappoint you. ... show more

  • Perfect for Gaming and Clear Images
I was a little weary of buying a nearly $300 monitor, but I quickly realized just how good this monitor is. The thing is more than big enough to satisfy anyone looking to game or do any graphical work (I use GIS programs frequently, so having a large screen definitely helps me to do my work). The brightness of the screen is more than enough. I usually have to turn it down to 60% by night or my eyes will begin to fry. The 144hz refresh rate provides smooth video. I've never experienced any of the blurring I used to have with other monitors. The monitor runs nice and cool, and has a large number of options to tune the image to your liking. I have it connected to my RTX 1660S via display port, and I have not run into any issues after six months. No flickering, no spots where the display stopped working. Another convenient thing about this monitor is how thin it is. I can easily transport it if need be. All I have to do is take off the base (which takes five seconds). Overall, I would recommend this if you need a large monitor for high resolution images, and desire smooth video (for gaming or for any graphical/animation work). ... show more

  • Insanely Good Deal (When in stock!)
I was able to get this monitor for around $163 after tax, and I can say it was worth every penny. I don't know why monitors need to be so expensive, especially for a 1080p experience, but the pricing on this one is just perfect. I bought this monitor to stay within a decent budget for my new gaming PC and after a month of use, it definitely deserves 5 stars. I was unsure what cable would come with the monitor, as the very few Youtube videos and reviews claimed it came with an HDMI cable, which it does NOT. This monitor in fact comes with a DISPLAYPORT CABLE. It was great not to have to go and purchase a 3rd party $15+ cable to get the full 144hz out of the monitor and the cable is very high quality, the perfect length, and has a locking mechanism that keeps it plugged into my GPU and the monitor itself. Assembling the base took no longer than a minute, (not kidding!) and the bezels are super thin. The UI interface of the monitor also is really nice and intuitive, with 7 buttons on the right side including the power button, you can navigate through the settings of the monitor or change device input super easily. Overall, when this monitor is in stock and not being price gouged, DONT LOOK ELSEWHERE. I don't think there is a better IPS 144hz 1ms 23.8'' monitor int the sub $200 price range that can beat this one. Excellent product that I can use for years to come. ... show more
