I bought this for work, not to game on, so I can only soak to the quality of this being a vertical setup monitor for work. I wanted something that could rotate beefcake and allow me more real estate for work, and so far this is delivering beautifully. Out of the box there is some assembly (connect the stand to the monitor and then the base to the stand) but it came with the necessary tool (basic Phillips head screwdriver) to get this together in about 5 minutes. Plugged in and it was ready to go. I did have to Google how to get the screen to display vertically since I've never had a vertical monitor but it's a simple config on my laptop's display setting. I needed a second monitor for working at home. I work with a lot of coding to be able to switch between vertical and horizontal was important, and I can confirm it rotates easily. Bad thing,,, extremely bad thing is lack of direction.. Not simple plug-n-play for HDMI or USB-C. No printed instructions about how to select the right input on the monitor or warning that to select the correct output on the computer. Sound quality is minimal. Bought 2 to go with my wife’s new Apple Mac mini. As the mini only has one hdmi port had to use USB C connect. Tried using some C connectors I had to charge other electronics and couldn’t get the second monitor to work. My son came over and told me I needed a USB C DATA cable. He gave me one from his work I connected it and the other monitor fired right up. My wife is very picky and she has had no complaints about these monitors. My one complaint is that I don’t recall the instructions saying anything about a data connection for using USB C. But for the price hard to beat. ... show more

Overall, this is a great monitor for picture clarity and color. Specifically, this is a great monitor to use with a Mac Mini Intel that is having issues with the HDMI connection. The problem with the Mini coming out of sleep mode and then displaying a screen with snow while using the HDMI port is fixed with this monitor using the USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 connection. Just be sure the USB-C cable you use supports video - the Cable Matters USB-C to USB-C cable (from Amazon) I chose works fine. The only misleading thing I found in the listing is the monitor does not have internal speakers - it has a mini phone jack where you can plug in headphones but no actual speakers. ... show more

The new Asus monitor works great. I have it connected as a monitor and power to my Apple Macbook Pro M1 and Surface Pro 8. Both laptops, not concurrently, can power charge and use as an external monitor. To those that have doubts or left negative feedback, be sure to get a USB4 USB C cable, a cable that supports 40Gbps/100Watts. I'm using the 100 watts version; I believe the 64watt should work (unconfirmed). And yes, these cables cost $20- $40 for 3 feet. Please bear in mind that not all USBC cables are the same. You may have a USBC plug on either end, but it may not meet the requirement to carry the transfer speed. ... show more

Sound is the only disappointment.. Too low volume. Granted it's in my cubicle and I have 3 identical monitors all are using display port cable. I usually don't need volume except when trying to watch a video of something with other people watching as well.. Headset works for just me most of the time..
