  • Below average quality and DEAD after 5 days - numerous users have reported power-related issues.
Edit: PLEASE also look into all of the other negative reviews here and on other retailer sites. There is something -wrong- with this monitor from a power perspective. ASUS needs to address this. No one should be buying this monitor until they do. TL;DR - Monitor died after 5 days of light use, no longer powers on. Below average quality with its shaky plastic buttons on the rear, dead pixel, all plastic construction and, well, the fact that it died in 5 days. Picture is nice and clear as you expect for 4K, but this feels overpriced and cheap for a thousand dollars. Pros: - Boxing and presentation; included ROG-branded cables, stickers, ROG literature insert - Factory calibrated sRGB mode with included calibration report - Height adjustable stand - Lots of settings and options including several picture modes, ELMB-Sync, adaptive sync & GSYNC(compatible, and works with ELMB-Sync too) - Picture is clear and sharp as you expect for 4K in 32". Noticeable difference from 1440p in my opinion Cons: - It died in 5 days. No longer powers on. It randomly started to flash full-screen colors at maximum brightness today while it was in standby mode and my PC was asleep. Upon waking my PC from sleep, the monitor came to life as expected, power cycled a few times on its own moments later and is now completely dead. (I did try a different DisplayPort cable, but with the included ASUS power brick and small circular power connector you can't easily try a different power cable, unfortunately. And I did update the firmware successfully one day prior to it dying.) - Plastic buttons on the rear are incredibly cheap. They're shaky in their cut out and have a loud plastic clunk when pressed. Feels like these belong on a $75 monitor from Staples. - sRGB mode locks out most picture settings and on my unit, looked slightly yellow despite factory calibration - Dynamic backlight setting is atrocious and causes blooming around windows and the cursor. Almost unusable. - Average/fair response time. Read professional reviews for this to see that the response time is subpar for a monitor like this in 2021 - ELMB-Sync lowers brightness when enabled - "Racing Mode" picture mode is apparently the only picture mode that lowers input lag, but at the cost of wildly saturated colors - My unit had one dead pixel in the lower right corner * GSYNC 'compatible' only may be a con to some. Would have appreciated at least regular GSYNC for a thousand dollars I would not recommend this monitor. ... show more

  • Outstanding monitor!
I absolutely love the monitor. It performs at the highest level that you expect! Top of the line coming from Asus and the presentation when you unbox it is AMAZING! I have 2 very small things I don't like about it....The contrast ratio is only 700:1 and it don't allow Dolby Vision, otherwise it's absolutely the best monitor I've ever owned! I wouldn't have it any other way. It's the best way to play on my PS5 and my XSX. The frames are flawless and it's super bright! The HDR makes some games a little dull as far as your blacks and your shades. It's sometimes better to turn off your HDR or turn it down depending on what your doing, but it's seriously only a minor issue. The picture quality and gameplay is OUTSTANDING! I highly recommend this monitor! It does everything you need for the next gen systems for the 1ms and can be hooked up to your pc as well and runs overclocked at 150hz. You get what you pay for and this monitor delivers on all ends! If I didn't buy this monitor I'd recommend an LG C1. It's a television but it offers Dolby Vision and its an OLED panel with VRR built into it with 4 hdmi 2.1 inputs. I can assure you if you buy this monitor; you will be very impressed and you won't be disappointed with your purchase! Thanks for reading my review! 😉 ... show more

  • Excitement was short lived.
The other reviews about it powering off and not powering back on are true. I received the monitor plugged it up and was only able to enjoy it for about 5hrs. When the monitor did work it was beautiful from the colors and the gaming performance with a 3080ti, but it shut off as if the monitor went to sleep and would not turn back on, even after unplugging and move the power connector to a different outlet. I left the Power cable unplugged from the outlet all night and plugged it back in and the monitor worked for about 10 mins and shut off again. ASUS definitely has QC issues with these monitors, and this is unexpectable for a monitor of this price. If you're reading this I recommend you to listen to the reviews that has power issues and look else where because your chance of having these same issues seems like it is high. ... show more

  • It is hard to beat gaming in 4k resolution.
The colors really pop and for me, it lets me find the enemies more clearly. I think it is a great monitor and you can game at 144hz and with G-Sync engaged it makes for a very smooth picture. I like the HDR 600 and it keeps the picture bright and colorful. I would recommend this monitor for 4k gaming. ... show more

  • Does not work well with Linux
The picture is breathtaking. However, the monitor does allow to turn "auto-source" off. The result is struggle to make the monitor work every time I unlock my Ubuntu machine. The monitor works perfectly with Windows. This is what happens when the monitor is connected to Ubuntu machine only. When the computer is locked, the monitor is blank. Pressing buttons on the keyboard does not make the monitor show any information from Ubuntu. A message "HDMI no signal" appears on the monitor from time to time. I assume that the computer starts sending signal and then stops periodically. After pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1,Ctrl-Alt-F2,Space a few times a screen with my account name appears. After I enter the password, the screen goes blank again. In most cases, it shows me Ubuntu desktop after that. In some cases, after the password is entered, the monitor shows "HDMI no signal" again and I have to repeat the process of unlocking from scratch. The same Linux machine works fine with an older monitor. ... show more
