  • What an amazing monitor
I have tested 5 different large display monitors and this one, by far, takes the cake for me. The resolution is perfect for both immersive gaming and productivity tasks which is a balance that I found difficult to achieve with other monitors. I've compared this with 2 Samsung Gaming monitors, the 55" Ark and the 43" flat gaming monitor. Also compared with the 48" LG gaming monitor and the 38" flat ASUS gaming monitors. No need to share part numbers because there's only one monitor with those specs from each manufacturer. Picture quality: Excellent, although I haven't tested HDR as some other reviews have mentioned, regular non-HDR picture quality is excellent in productivity apps, games and cinema. Variable Refresh Rate in games: I use G-Sync and it is flawless Curvature: Perfect for me, as this monitor is placed arm length from me. Resolution: Perfect for immersive gaming and productivity (split screen too). Build quality: Excellent, the stand is solid, the monitor itself feels solid, but definitely follow instructions provided in the box. Gaming features: Excellent, you get the crosshair and you get to choose which kind. You also get a desktop app so you don't have to mess around the monitor menu if you'd like to change something quick. G-Sync works flawlessly. Variable Refresh Rate is a definite for gaming if you ask me, but you'll have to manually enable the feature. OLED Care: Excellent, monitor takes care of itself with pixel shifting, cleaning and screensaver so no worries about OLED related issues, much less likely to happen as a result. Text quality: I have seen little evidence of text quality issues, however this is App dependent. I have noticed this in some text boxes on few websites in my Firefox browser, but nowhere else. I use a variety of Microsoft productivity apps, other browsers as well and this is a non-issue for me, but your mileage may vary. In summary: Excellent monitor 5 stars, I hope other concerns brought up by previous reviews (text quality and HDR) get resolved soon with firmware, however I wasn't able to replicate them myself. Good job ASUS. ... show more

  • 2 day review: a good screen.
Pros: Good vibrant colors right out the box. Smooth refresh rate A lot brighter than the LG39 OLED I tried. Text is clear for me, no noticeable fringing. Cons Real bad flicker with gsync or vsync on (GPU 5070 ti) A little bit of a gap between the screen and bezel on the right side of the screen The red LED Asus logo on the bottom of the screen is distracting Couldn't really change monitor settings without downloading an Asus program. The options were greyed out when trying to change otherwise. Unknowns: Longevity Monitor stand, I mounted it on an arm. ... show more

  • Just buy the LG version instead, save yourself the headache
I would HIGHLY advise against getting this monitor, and you should instead go for the LG version of this monitor. LG manufactures the panel on both, but as other have said, HDR on this particular monitor is unbelievably messed up. I bought this because I wanted the other features this had over the LG (KVM switch and ELMB - extreme low motion blur), but those features ALSO did not work well. CONS - Without HDR, you will have terrible color banding on the monitor for some reason - With HDR, you will have a weird 'tracing' of color around blurred objects, also all the colors get SEVERELY muted into a grayish mess. - Black details are completely crushed, low light gets weird banding and detail washes away - The ELMB DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. You must 1) have hdr disabled 2) switch your pc to EXACTLY 120hz because this doesn't work at 60hz and 3) have Gsync turned off. Even then, your game must be EXACTLY at 120hz, with no dips in framerate, otherwise you will get a sickening image that makes it even more blurry then before. For games like Elden Ring where it is always locked at 60hz, this feature is completely unusable, which sucks because you would want the ELMB to make up for the low framerate to increase the motion clarity. PROS - It is slightly brighter than the LG, but not worth all the cons I returned this and opted for the LG and WOW, all I can say is that I wish I had done so from the get-go. There are zero problems with it, which is sad since the panel is the exact same unit as the ASUS. I even updated the firmware on the ASUS and the problems still persisted. ... show more
