  • Great screen for under $300. Though the thumbnail is a little misleading.
Out of the box, it works as expected. Windows detected the model and everything straight away. I didn’t have to even download any kind INF to identify the model number. The design is clean. And even though it’s not the same as my other MSI monitor, puzzle and screen shape is close enough to where it lines right up and it’s not jarring different. Couple things I’d like to point out just for people that are looking at this. This is the faster/slightly boosted version over the older ACS model. Like a newer refresh so to speak. 255 Hz. HDR 400 so it looks pretty good. Came with a nice little ROG reusable zipper nylon/mesh bag for the included DP and power cables. Obviously it’s not gonna look as good as an OLED. Nothing will, but it looks really good on its own right. We’ll see what happens if things start going out or failing in a couple years One thing to note. The product picture clearly shows Aura sync with the badges on the monitor. This model does not have that. Those are specific to the. ACG/ACMEG product lines. Not a dealbreaker for me because I could care less than a crap about it. The reason I picked this up was because my old monitor was dying and I needed a quick replacement. And since this was actually on sale at the time, 199 down from 300 when the older ACS model was still listed at 250, this was actually cheaper than the older model. All in all, not a bad monitor for 200 bucks. It’s no OLED, so it’s not the top of the stack obviously. But it is still a decent IPS panel with great responsiveness and color. Oh, before I forget. When I first plugged it in out of the box, the color seemed a little washed out. But once I calibrated the HDR, it was a night and day difference so make sure to calibrate the HDR if it looks like the colors aren’t all that bright or varied ... show more

  • great monitor for the price
Great monitor very smooth in game, the stand it comes with is also pretty nice because the height is adjustable.

  • Poor viewing angles
A dark haze creeps in when viewing off-axis. It's bad enough that it's visible at the edges while sitting centered at a normal viewing distance (a couple feet). Not what I expect from an IPS. I heard a rumor that recent IPS panels are being made with worse viewing angles. Indeed, my other cheap IPS I bought 2.5 years ago for $200 that's now sitting beside this one has near perfect viewing angles. This is an annoyance, but it doesn't ruin the monitor. Aside from that, the monitor has above average contrast for an IPS, and it's fast at 255 hz (enable Overclocking in the menu). Color looks good to me. I set it to "User" under GameVisual and set the color space to sRGB. Motion clarity seems fine. I don't have the means to properly test these. I bought this monitor at a discount for $200, down from $300. For that price, it's good to get 255hz and decent contrast. The screen looks a little better than my older one, but with the list price being $100 more, it should. At full price, the poor viewing angles would be harder to swallow. Not sure if I would recommend. ... show more
