  • Great for work and play while remote
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz w/ Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
Great portable monitor for while on the move or vacation. Picture quality is great and is has multiple ports to accommodate various cable connections The audio quality on the monitor is poor but you're most likely muting that anyways The only con is the battery life - it sizzles out after a couple hours so you may have to turn it off to charge in between uses ... show more

  • Excellent...except for a fatal flaw in build quality!
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz White w/ Tripod, Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
Being almost 100% on the go now, I bought this to increase my screen working real estate. Gaming wasn't a priority, but being spoiled by gaming desktop screens, I wanted one with the same spec and quality. I got the screen and noticed that overall the design was great; I will say that the packaging and included accessories really set a good tone. The screen was made of plastic, but it was still built well. The folding stand felt great and was definitely versatile. The bag was eye-catching with a grey that had a little tinge of blue(?) to make it stand out against the neon pieces. The tripod felt like a tank. I did notice though that the quality of the image seemed worse than that of my Asus ROG laptop; my laptop has a QHD resolution and higher refresh rate, so that played in its favor as well, but was expected. The thing that bothered me more about the quality though was that despite the included calibration paper, I felt like the screen was a lot more blue and dim than the laptop, even after I fiddled with all the settings. However, if it wasn't sitting right next to my laptop and looked at independently, the image on the screen was excellent and sharp. Movement was crisp without blur. Overall, this is a killer portable screen and overall impressive. However.... There is one huge major, fatal flaw that led me to return the monitor by the second day. Many have reported that the joint where the screen connects to the optional tripod is weak. Mine exhibited that right away. I installed the joint connector to the screen and noted immediately that while the connector was metal, the screw point in the screen was plastic painted to look like metal. After installing the connector and placing the screen on the tripod, I noticed right away that the screen would jiggle along the rotational axis of the screw. Whenever I moved the laptop it was connected to, the cable connection would make the screen go askew, no matter how gentle I moved. I tried to lightly tighten the screw of the connector using a tiny screwdriver and finger strength and immediately felt it start to strip the plastic screw hole. After that, the screen consistently floated in rotation about 4 or 5 degrees clockwise. It was distracting and disappointing. It was a bad design choice to have such a vital joint be plastic on one end, considering the relatively expensive price of this screen. I cannot justify paying this much for this screen when a vital function for me - being able to mount it on a tripod to bring it higher to save my poor neck - just is a complete fail. If Asus replaces the connecting point in the future with a more robust material, I would reconsider this monitor, as it definitely checks a lot of the other boxes. It is unfortunate to save probably a few bucks that they otherwise ruined a great product. (p.s. just want to add that I find it disappointing that all the "professional" electronics magazines and reviewers glossed over this issue; I first saw complaints about this joint in Amazon/retail reviews, but I have not seen any pro reviewers dare to point it out) ... show more

  • Awesome Value.
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz w/ Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
Fantastic, works great for travel. Make sure to check your laptop for the correct usb c port. Older laptops watch out, But having video and charging through one port is amazing. Being able to have a 2nd monitor on the go is a game changer. Plus it actually works way better than expected for gaming, vtt, or even just a really nice youtube monitor. For the price its way better than another ipad, android etc device. Super light weight. Fits a timbuk laptop bag with a 17 inch laptop for me. For the price to have IPS, 144hz, its amazing. ... show more

  • Great monitor, undersized charging brick
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz White w/ Tripod, Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
Monitor is useful and nice quality. It comes with a soft sided case. I would prefer a hard cover like the Microsoft Surface Keyboard or the iPad Smart Folio. It came with a usb-A 10w charger, usb-c to usb-c cable and a usb-A to usb-c adapter. I felt the charging brick was very undersized. It took a long time to charge and had trouble powering the display when I used the included hdmi to usb-c display cable. Kick stand cannot be used if the tripod mount is attached. I love the tripod but when my bag gets heavy I leave it at home and it would be nice to leave the tripod mount but still use the kickstand ... show more

  • UI Needs Rework
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz w/ Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
I bought this monitor because it was the highest-rated by PC-Mag, and I liked the features it offered. But if anyone had told me I would have to hit 3 different buttons IN CORRECT SEQUENCE just to turn it off, I never would have bought it. I'd never imagine the UI for a monitor could be so difficult. The power button should just turn it on/off, no? Not on this one. The power button is integrated as a control, and on top of that, there's a power LED which lights up even when the unit is not powered on, so I spent a lot of time just trying to figure out why I wasn't getting a picture. I can't seem to just turn the volume up/down using the left/right buttons but first have to open up a menu to get to the volume setting. And then, it counter-intuitively uses the left button to turn the volume up and the right button to turn it down. One reason I bought this model was the integrated stand which includes a tripod mount. Mine included a little button cover for the hole in the tripod mount, but that will not stay in place. It is just slightly too small for the hole, so there's nothing to hold it in place. There are a lot of great things going on here. I can't complain about the picture quality, and the included bag is very nice. I really wish there was a rotation feature, because iOS devices just refuse to properly orient the picture. Don't expect much from the built-in speaker. At 100% volume it was still very quiet. I have also found it will charge from USB-C, but that doesn't seem to apply while it is in use. It drained from 100% battery to 20% in about 90 minutes while connected to a NUC thunderbolt 3 port. Finally, Asus has a firmware update available which is supposed to allow it to wake from sleep when the connected device wakes up (you currently must manually power it back on) but the included instructions are difficult to understand, and I'm afraid to try performing the procedure at this time. Update to the above after some more use: I'm seeing a LOT of user complaints about power. This doesn't want to charge while in use. It just runs down until it gives you a power warning, even with both an HDMI AND a USB power connection. I expected something like a 10-hour battery life, but plugged in it complained after only a couple of hours. And the 3-button requirement just to power it off is REALLY REALLY getting on my nerves. Why not just hold to power off?????? No firmware updates in 9 months, so ASUS just doesn't give a crap about supporting this thing? I did find that the battery holds a charge nicely while it's asleep and it does auto-wake when I connect a device. Still sort of regretting how much I spent on this compared to sub-$200 monitors out there. ... show more

  • Great portable monitor for work
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz w/ Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
We bought this for WFH purposes and it's been great. The ability to run on battery, easily connect with usb-c or HDMI, and it's top notch picture quality make it perfect for our non-gaming purposes. Highly recommend.
