Fantastic, works great for travel. Make sure to check your laptop for the correct usb c port. Older laptops watch out, But having video and charging through one port is amazing. Being able to have a 2nd monitor on the go is a game changer. Plus it actually works way better than expected for gaming, vtt, or even just a really nice youtube monitor. For the price its way better than another ipad, android etc device. Super light weight. Fits a timbuk laptop bag with a 17 inch laptop for me. For the price to have IPS, 144hz, its amazing.

I should have recorded a video of this monitor malfunctioning in real time but I'll definitely know better next time. Let's begin with the unboxing. The monitor and accessories were nicely packed but as mentioned in another Amazon review, ASUS included a USB-C to USB-C power cable with a power adapter that only takes USB-A. My eyebrow was raised as my Spidey Sense started tingling. I plugged the monitor directly into my laptop with the provided USB-C cable after setting it up on its built-in stand and the screen came on for about 20 seconds and then went black. This cycle of the screen going on and off went on for several minutes with the battery indicator screen popping up for a couple of seconds in between. I then begin the frustrating experience of trying to troubleshoot the problem. I used my own USB-A to USB-C cable to plug the monitor into the power adapter so it could charge. Got the same results as described above with the screen powering on and off. But the battery indicator kept decreasing each time it popped up on the screen. After a few days of this, I decided to contact ASUS for tech support. The tech support was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! When I was finally able to get through all the voice prompts to a real person, I was transferred 5 TIMES to different tech support reps. Each time I had to repeat the serial number of the monitor, my name, and the details of the problem just to have the last tech support rep tell me it sounded like a motherboard issue. This is something that has been the subject of numerous YouTube reviews of ASUS products lately and this situation just reinforced that commentary. The support tech initiated a refund process at my request and I returned the monitor to ASUS. My Amazon account indicates the return center received the monitor on Aug 3rd but I still haven't received my refund as of the date of this review. I may get it by Aug 19th according to the Amazon app. Funny how they are quick to take your money but it takes so long to get a refund. To be fair, I have an ASUS gaming laptop now I purchased last year that has been working fine. I have dealt with tech breaking down and needing a replacement. I get it. Things happen. But this situation has left me with a lot of distrust of purchasing any ASUS product going forward just because the customer support was so difficult. You can forget me even thinking about buying a ROG Ally handheld gaming PC let alone another monitor or laptop from ASUS for that matter. If you still decide to move forward with your purchase after reading this, I hope it works out for you better than it did for me.

Material quality feels top notch and it includes a substantial amount of accessories such as the cables, carrying case, optional stand, and adapter. The screen can be finicky to work with certain devices, such as a steam deck, and a remote would have nice to have to streamline the process of connection. The buttons for the screen are not marked as far as I can tell so it will be trial and error to set up, keep that in mind if you are a plug and play type of person. I would have preferred the connections to be on the rear or bottom, they are on the left side of the monitor and are very noticeable when plugged in. The speakers on the monitor are extremely subpar and do not have any semblance of loudness, or bass. I would recommend a decent headset or an external speaker to pair with this. The display itself is not bad but when compared to more expensive panels it feels a bit outdated, I would compare it to the older TN panels that came factory in budget Gaming laptops of the 2018-2021 era. Battery life is acceptable roughly 3-5 hours is the average life span I got on battery. Used mostly plugged in though. I purchased this to pair with my ROG Ally so I will update at a later time to report on my experience. This device is not for everyone and I would suggest a traditional monitor over this if you don’t intend to game on the go (hotels, airplanes, work, dorms etc..)

Great portable monitor for while on the move or vacation. Picture quality is great and is has multiple ports to accommodate various cable connections The audio quality on the monitor is poor but you're most likely muting that anyways The only con is the battery life - it sizzles out after a couple hours so you may have to turn it off to charge in between uses
