  • Install Drivers Before Windows 10 Update Can!
The motherboard works well, but I had a very difficult time getting it going at the beginning. Note: I am using an Intel i7-10700K CPU. I installed Windows 10 on it. Everything worked well until it ran for about 5-10 minutes. It randomly blue screened and rebooted. Then it came back up and blue screened about 5-10 minutes later. I tried reinstalling Windows 10 and same issues. I removed all the components except the absolutely necessary ones, and it still blue screened. I also tried reading the Blue screen logs and tried all the solutions that I could find online and nothing would work. Eventually, It would blue screen even before I could get a fresh install of Windows. I also tried updating the BIOS and that wouldn't work. The only way I could keep it running is booting in Safe Mode. Eventually, I determined that Windows Update was installing the wrong drivers. Then I couldn't uninstall them to install the right ones. The way I got it to work was: - Remove any internet connectivity from the PC - Reinstall Windows 10 - After initial setup, immediately boot it to Safe Mode with internet connection - Reconnect it to the internet. - Go to the Asus website and download every driver that is for the motherboard. - Remove the internet connectivity from it again. - Boot it in normal mode - Install all of the drivers that you got from Asus (reboot as necessary) - Connect it to the internet and let Windows update do its thing. - Looked at Device manager for devices with (!) next to them. - Made note of the Hardware IDs, of the devices - Got on a Live chat with Asus and told them about the (!) on the devices and provided the Hardware IDs. - install the drivers they give you. The motherboard is good, it's just that you need to beat Windows Update when it tries to install the wrong drivers. If you are thinking of getting this board, I highly recommend that you don't connect it to the internet until you get the Asus drivers on there first. You can probably download all the drivers you need on a USB, move it over to the PC before you connect it to the internet, and install them. This will prevent the need to do the first 6 steps I had to do ... show more

  • Used in a Professional Computer
I built my computer using this motherboard for engineering work. I do a lot of computer graphics/aided design and simulation. This motherboard uses Armoury Crate and I LOVE how it optimizes my processor speeds. My computer doesn't even wince with the most demanding number crunching simulations. I occasionally play that really popular massively multiplayer online game with the highest settings and the motherboard does its part in ensuring there are no interruptions. One thing I need to warn potential buyers about. When I first built my computer, it would occasionally crash for no reason. This crash would happen 1 to 2 times a day. The solution is to update the motherboard. I am running the i7-11700KF processor in this motherboard, and for whatever reason, the motherboard needs to be updated to ensure smooth operation. The computer has not crashed since. ... show more

  • PLEASE INSTALL DRIVERS
Built my first PC with this motherboard. It works great. Main problem is that it requires like 5 or so drivers to be installed, otherwise it’ll give you BSOD’s. The drivers are hard to find, as they are hidden on the website. Other than that, it works fine.

  • Board worked save for odd display problem
READ TO BOTTOM: Installed this board with an Intel i5-11600K, 32 GB 3600MHz DRAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. Everything worked perfectly until... I selected a slideshow for my background using a collection of photos. Right off the bat I started noticing some of the images not displaying correctly: zoomed in, too bright or chopped into horizontal pieces. This was happening to perhaps 2 in 5 images displayed. Tried a different monitor and connection (first was DP, second was HDMI) and suffered the exact same issue. Contacted Asus tech support in a chat (got in touch quickly and they were helpful) and took their recommendation to execute a BIOS update. The update, unfortunately, had no effect on the problem. Their conclusion then was that the board had a hardware problem. I had intended to ask Amazon for a replacement board, but they said they could not provide one (?). So, I opted for the refund. I also chose to try another manufacturer and got a Gigabyte Z-590 Aorus Elite, the first time in six home made computers that I have not used an Asus motherboard. New MBoard has not arrived yet so, no comment there. I also note that the Amazon text about the Asus z590-P mentions dual band wireless and BT support on this board. Those features are present on another Asus version of the Z-590, but not this one. ADDENDUM: Got Gigabyte mboard, installed it and found SAME graphics problem. Got into two extended tech support chats with Intel re their 750 integrated graphics I was using but no cause could be found. However, within a week, the problem spontaneously vanished. I had installed a few programs during the interim but no Windows or Intel updates that I knew of. Board now works perfectly and I strongly suspect the same would have been true with the Asus board. Put 5th star back on rating for excellent tech support effort if nothing else. Asus makes good boards and the Z-590 is no exception ... show more
