  • It's a pretty good budget 2K HDR monitor
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
It's maximum refresh rate is 75Hz, probably fast enough for the average person who isn't sold that 30fps is way too slow and you must have super-high refresh rates. (if you do, best to look at FHD/1024p monitors anyway as you're looking at competitive eSports speeds.) I didn't buy this one for gaming. (I have another monitor for that.) I bought this for the IPS panel, HDR, and for content creation. It produces a great image for that, with little tuning/adjustment. The controls are fairly easy to use for it's pop-up menu system too. Just make sure your OS is also adjusted to max out its visual potential. ... show more

  • Value point 2560x1440.
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
I got two of these for portrait mode programming. I also wanted monitors in a portable form factor for commuting 2 hours to a remote work site. Out of the box it is easy to add the standing plate via the permanently affixed screw. If you want landscape.. I removed the standing plate pillar, added VESA mounts, and only hang this in portrait on a VIVO ( VIVO Black Freestanding Single Monitor Mount, Pro Gaming Desk Stand with Headphone Holder, Height Adjustable Mount for 1 Screen up to 32 inches, STAND-V101F ). The box has convenient handholds on the sides so I'm able to maneuver two of these monitors in their boxes at one go (although two can get heavy). Completely happy with the video / color / brightness options. The single button control for power and options takes some getting used to but it's nothing you can complain about for very long. My excel spreadsheet for comparing monitors in this class had about twenty monitors total, and I compared total number of user reviews, total percentage of 1-star reviews, cost, year of release, VESA ready and a few other metrics. This was an extremely carefully analyzed investment. I liked the first one so much that I thought it was a scandal I didn't have two. So I fixed that. This was the maximum 2560 x 1440 value for investment. ... show more

  • Refresh Rate and Resolution Dependent Upon Cabling
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
I recently purchased the ASUS VP32AQ monitor to complement my Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 with Surface Dock 2 port replicator. The Dock 2 has two USB-C ports that are display-enabled. Since the monitor has both a DisplayPort (DP) and an HDMI Port, I purchased two cables (and use one cable at a time): USB-C to DisplayPort (DP) USB-C to HDMI. * Cable Dependencies * In the photos below of the On Screen Display (OSD), note the default display settings that seem to be dependent on the type of cable used: (1) When the USB-C to DP cable is used, the display resolution and refresh rate are: 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz. (2) When the USB-C to HDMI cable is used, the display resolution and refresh rate are: 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz (per the OSD Menu). This resolution is doubtful as the specification for this monitor is only WQHD (2560 x 1440). Using the Windows 11 Settings Display options (I'm no expert in setting these options.), I've been able to configure the following: (1) With a DisplayPort (DP) cable, I can configure up to 2560 x 1440 @ 75Hz. (2) With an HDMI cable, I can configure up to 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz. I recommend the DisplayPort (DP) cable because it provides the higher refresh rate (75Hz) at the maximum screen resolution (2560 x 1440). Perhaps the HDMI cable can also provide the same performance when the display settings are properly configured. Unfortunately, ASUS has not provided the documentation and support for novice users, such as me. * ASUS Tech Support & Documentation * I am subtracting one point for marginal documentation and tech support: (a) The VP32AQ quick start guide has no text to explain the few diagrams that it contains. (b) The downloadable User Guide for the VP32A Series monitors do not mention the reason for the differences in the display settings when different cables (DP or HDMI) are used. (c) The ASUS Chat Line seems to allow only a quanta of time to resolve an issue. At the end of that quanta of time, the representative will abruptly close the chat session. * Full Display Size * Earlier reviewers have noted a 1-inch to 2-inch black "border" around the screen that reduces the display size. I'm happy to report that once I stumbled onto the Windows 2560 x 1440 display configuration option, this has not been an issue. Look at the photo of the recording artist (Kina Grannis) on the VP32AQ below. Content is displayed right up to the edge of the screen! ... show more

  • It really is easier on the eyes
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
I have used an Apple Monitor (from 2012) until I purchased this monitor. Although the Apple monitor held up for almost 12 years, I was noticing that it seemed to be getting harder to see. (I gifted it to a younger set of eyes who is still very happy with it.) From the time I got this monitor set up I noticed a huge difference in the way my eyes felt after 8 hours or more a day on it. There is zero residual flicker when I close my eyes after working on this monitor. Another member of my team just bought one too and loves it. The only thing that I wish Asus would do is have drivers or software to make customized adjustments rather than the archaic push-button/click system on the back of the monitor. Takes me back to the 90s. Ha! But you can't go wrong with this one. Price point is great and is really is easier on my eyes. ... show more

  • Great screens for a good price point
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
Asus is one of my favorite computer brands. I have never tried there monitors. At the price these were going for I gave them a shot. They are on par with Samsung and LG screens. Would highly recommend

  • Crap. I would think even a used monitor would at least get checked first.
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
You can see from the pictures. One of the pictures is with nothing even plugged in. I tried it with my Windows PC and MacBook Pro and both are crap. Some of the artifacting is the phone taking a picture of a screen, but the fact that with nothing plugged in it isn't black and is basically gray and white alternating pattern is the issue. You can see in the picture with the blue splash screen for windows in the lower right the weird pattern there. That is all over the place in all images. ... show more

  • Fantastic 2k monitor
Style: 32" IPS QHD Freesync
This was an upgrade to a 27inch, 1440 screen and it looks great! Its mostly used for office work, so please ignore the gaming score.
