Bought a refurbished iPhone on Amazon and wisely bought the protection plan (have had prior experience with this as well). 17 months later one of the speakers stopped functioning. Making a claim with asurion was quick (I did its via chat with an agent) and resulted in a full refund of purchase price (minus the replacement fee of $79) once I return the phone. Not sure what else one could ask for. It was a good purchase.

Is there a "0"? Don't buy this service! It's a SCAM! The customer service is horrendous. You end up paying $5.31 per month + $79 for a service fee. I was told over chat by Richie and Bert that my phone was going to be repaired at a nearby UBreakiFix in Apopka FL, after paying $79. I called the store to confirm they had the parts, which Jacob told me they did. Jacob did not even have the consideration to examine the phone or verify the instructions by the claim number. He did not receive the phone, insinuating I was lying: "That's not the instructions I have in the system. It's not a repair, is a replacement". He did not enter the claim number in the system, nor did he even touch the phone! They take 3-5 business days to issue an electronic credit after receiving the item! A simple e-mail! That means I'll spend 7-10 days without a phone. A repair would take a few hours. There is no justification for the customer to wait up to 7 days for a reimbursement if it has been approved and the item has already been dropped off and received by them. What a waste of time and money...

My screen broke less than 3 months after getting my phone. I used the asurion app to file a claim and the very next day I was able to get it fixed and back in working order at a local shop that they were affiliated with. Cost was only $40 for the replacement. Very good experience.

The phone itself was great, especially refurbished. However, I strongly warn Amazon customers not to buy the Asurion insurance. I paid for the monthly protection, and when I finally needed a cracked screen repaired, Asurion told me I had to mail in my phone and be without it for 7–10 days, plus shipping time. I explained that I use my phone for both personal and business purposes and couldn’t be without it for half a month. I asked if there was any local repair option, even in nearby metro areas, and they said no. My son had the same issue, so we both canceled. I tried to get a refund for the months of payments, but Amazon could only offer a small credit. Amazon has always been great, but I really wish they would stop promoting Asurion

I talked for over 5 hours today, after a 3rd shift. After starting this claim yesterday. I took over 10 pictures. That they kept telling me wasn't enough. They are claiming their "experts" know about something when obviously they know nothing. They know how to wiggle out of contracts. This company needs to go under. QUICK! AMAZON IS AMAZING AND FIXED MY ISSUE IN LESS THAN 15 MINUTES. DO NOT! GET THIS INSURANCE

These assurion subscription accounts are not properly attached to the products they are covering. I have tried for months now for them to respond to my questions about getting my insurance claim fulfilled but no answer . Zero responsibility from the company to the client. Will never purchase another product insurance again from amazon or this insurance corporation. Assurion is not properly tied to my product. I have two account , none are attached to the product I originally purchased it with.
