  • 5700xt challenger with nzxt water cooler.
I purchased this card about 6 months ago and noticed that it runs hot even when undervolting and setting a fan profile. I decided to take it up a notch by adding a aio water cooler kit from NZXT and some thermal pads and heat sinks for the vram. If you can do this mod please do it my card runs at around 60 degrees Celsius max now where as before I was push mid 90 degree Celsius. Over all it was easy to attach the water cooler and at a additional 150$ for a kraken aio water cooler and the gpu mounting kit it put the gpu at a 500$ price tag. Still worth every penny it’s so stable now I’ve actually added a overclock to it and it’s stable and stays cool ... show more

  • Very good card
This card is very good for gaming, I was almost swayed to not buy it since a lot of people had problems with heat or the fans on the card but here’s how I view my card. Pros: 1. Runs Fast on max settings for any game that I have played with it so far 2. The fans are quiet up until they ramp up to around 75% but they aren’t loud, they just become noticeable. 3. The card feels very sturdy and doesn’t feel cheap 4. The card runs at around 70C on load Cons: I don’t necessarily have any cons for this card, I’ve been with Nvidia for a while so the software is new to me but nothing is really bad with the card, for 380$ you can’t beat it, and you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • The most problematic GPU I've ever used
Do not buy this graphics card. I've been using it as a daily driver for a little over a month now and it hasn't been reliable once. Constantly overheating and restarting the PC (runs well over 90 constantly). The fans clip the side of the card and make a wizzing sound. With all 5 fans in my case on max 100% of the time the card still overheats and forces and comp reset when doing very minimal gaming (playing classic World of Warcraft). ... show more

  • Excellent card, needs work from user
This is a great card but the default fan profile is NOT sufficient for gaming. You can use a program like Radeon Software to improve this, though if you're on Windows 10 you'll also want to disable Fast Boot in the windows power options, or it will skip loading your fan profile, causing the problem to resurface. Beyond that it's a relatively inexpensive gaming video card for how powerful it is and I'm extremely happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Underclock to keep cool
Can run hot with core and memory. Under clocking can help keep temps in check. Cheaper than other brands.

  • FAST but also HOT and LOUD
the rx5700xt is a good graphics card, that should be obvious. The real deciding factor is whether or not you are ok with loud fans and higher temps. if you go with AMD make sure to get something like a sapphire model that has known better cooling for like 20 bucks more. I was playing apex at 144hz on ultra settings and in order to keep the challenger cool the fans had to spin too fast making it so loud. I now have a RTX 2060 super and for slightly lower frame rates i get a much more quiet experience AND less power consumption. ... show more
