AspenStudio Platinum Brass Cremation Urn is a beautiful urn. It is 3lbs heavy while empty for the 6"l x 6"w x 10"h. The urn is brushed aluminum with a layer of brass underneath. The engraving exposes the yellow brass color details underneath for a 2 tone metallic finish. The horizontal lines are nice and smooth, with no wiggles or waves. While the fancy engraved design details have rough edges where the metal is moved and the surface is not burnished/polished off. The engraved details really stand out in natural light. The lid is a screw top like a jar, so the urn can be picked up by the top without risk of the urn falling off to the floor. The bottom of the urn has a smooth matte cover to prevent any direct metal contact to avoid any scratches or discoloration/marks especially on stained wood or natural stone from oxidation or condensation, etc. The inside of the urn has a black painted coating so there is no bare metal contact. I would expect the ashes to be stored in a heavy duty zipped plastic bag and the bag placed into the urn. The bag is a cheap and stiff faux velvet drawstring bag. This is a very elegant and timeless looking urn on a mantle or table top.

For over $100, this is perhaps overpriced. On one hand, it's a great quality - it's huge, and the outside is made of thick, sturdy metal with beautiful tones and colors. It's extremely sturdy and durable and heavy, and it looks great on a shelf or anywhere else. It's got plenty of room inside for ashes, and you can easily twist the lid off to fill it and then twist it closed. However, it's got what I'm considering a pretty significant design flaw. The outside of the urn looks great, but the inside of the urn is pretty rough, it's made of something black and rough, and more importantly, it doesn't seal airtight - so if you put ashes into this, they'd be vulnerable to the air, and to water damage. This urn could easily have been fixed with a simple rubber or silicone gasket or something similar to make sure it could make a full seal. Which I would say, at least in my personal opinion, is the least I would owe to the deceased - not leaving the ashes exposed to the room air and any water damage. It's a good urn overall and if you're keeping the ashes in a sealed plastic bag then I suppose it might not matter to you, so I'm only taking off 2 stars for the lack of seal. * I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. * I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. * I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. * I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. * If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them. * And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.

The beauty of this urn is undeniable. The outside has two tones, allowing it to alternatively appear silvery and, at other times, golden. The markings, while shallow, are exquisite designs that make this an elegant and stately urn. The urn loses points, however, with the course, roughly finished inside. It could easily have been coated with something to make it non-abrasive with sharp bits. I have other urns and they tend to be finished inside, whether that means deburred or coated. For that reason, I docked a star. I do love the exterior of this urn and think it is a beautiful way to store ashes. This was used for the ashes of a beloved dog who we have had since he was a puppy. He is in his last days, so we are preparing and considering all options. Last hear, the oldest dog crossed the rainbow bridge and she is in an urn. It only seems right to place him beside her since he was nearly always at her side since puppyhood. Highly recommended urn; it is too beautiful to pass on.

This is a large urn and very well crafted. It arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. The etching is beautiful and the color seems to shift from gold to silver tones depending on the lighting. The top screws on securely, but it's easy to remove as needed. The inside is a textured metal. There is a felt-like pad on the bottom to protect table/mantle surface and prevent slippage. Great value for such a beautiful and substantial urn.

The craftsmanship of this urn is beautiful, However, it was much larger than I anticipated, which left me feeling a bit disappointed. While the size might work for some, it wasn’t what I was expecting based on the description. It’s a solid and well-made piece, but be sure to double-check the dimensions before purchasing.

The media could not be loaded. I really am impressed with the overall ultra high quality of manufacture and the etching and engraving is precise and really attractive. I love this urn so much I have placed it on the shelf in my office, and plan to occupy it someday. This beautiful urn on my shelf reminds me every time I am in my office to live life to the fullest! I worked in the funeral industry for many years and this is the highest quality urn I have ever seen or held. It has a very nice weight to it and the lid is beautifully machined for easy opening and closing. This urn has a very elegant look that speaks to me. A fitting eternal resting place for me due to the classical design and superb solid metal construction. Well worth the money and a bit underpriced for the level of quality if you ask me.
