I'm no runner. I'm a hospital worker, respiratory therapist, obese with bad feet. I overpronate and have chronic ankle instability, that I need surgery for. So, when I tell you I can work my 12 hours with minimal pain, it's a big deal!! When I do my first rounds, it's non stop walking and stopping for 3 to 4 hours. At the 4hr mark I start to hurt a bit. They also feel bouncy. Like they launch you a bit. I absolutely love these. I'm terrified to try the next generation coz you know how shoes can change. So I've bought 7 pair, and a couple for my husband against his will, har. I'm even walking on my days off. For comparison, I've worn gel kayanos for 14 years and still do sometimes. These are also quite slip resistant, I have tripped a bit from time to time. They run a little large but that's ok, it's better for toes anyway. Lastly they're so pretty!!     • Great for my arthritic feet!!
I have a very hard time finding shoes to work out and walk in because I have arthritis on the top of my feet and normal tennis shoes have such thick and long tongues in them that, over time, they irritate my arthritis in that area of my foot. However, with the Nova Blast ASIC the tongue is thin and has an inverted "V" and it doesn't bother my feet at all because it doesn't even touch the top of my feet! I feel like a new woman being able to walk and run around in these shoes without that persistent rubbing on the top of my feet! I never knew this was a 'thing' until I found ASIC shoes thanks to an astute sales person at a running store who guided me to these shoes. Ran a great race! Coming back from a year off of running. Tried several shoes but kept getting blisters on the side of my foot. These are fantastic. Light weight and lots of room. No blisters! I have always worn cumulus, and asics current version is horribly loose, no idea why they made it so loose. This is slightly less loose, but still more loose than I'd like. I'd prefer my shoes not fit like socks. Also I don't care for the tongue because you have to hold it when you put the shoe on so that it doesn't slide down.
